The steep angle of the shoulder dropping away beneath her as Cherry guides the sharp turn of the unicorn with her body forces Colt to sit deep, her opposite thigh holding her seat steady as quick motion rolls out beneath her. She picks a rein up on the shoulder's side to help Cherry mind her control better, holding her through the turn with tension that doesn't stop the mare but supports her, hauling some of the power back into her haunches. It's not easier to do, but it is better for both of them. Cherry shakes her head with mild disagreement, snorting through the control even as she bends to it.
With their escapee herding back into place, Colt lopes Cherry up the side of her line towards where she can see Thorn still struggling with her. As she goes, her attention sweeps over the procession anew, noting the speed ramping up and trying to pinpoint the spike in energy so she might help remove it. "Keep 'em slow! Steady!" she shouts out, a reminder to whoever's putting on undo pressure to back off before more than one or two flush out of the herd and scatters the whole thing. Assuming it's greenhorns or impatience that've inspired the shift, she hopes the call will spread and be heeded.
Colt slides in alongside Thorn, dropping Cherry's speed as they get closer to avoid her own hurry spooking the ancy unicorn further. "Use your illusion magic cowpoke!" she calls out to him, nodding with her chin to the area ahead of them. "Fill it with other riders or something that seems solid and not an option to run to." She could block some of the exit as a second body, but even more imaginary ones could do the trick nicely.
Colt shouts to keep the herd slow and joins Thorn to help with his, body blocking and suggests he use illusion magic
