Character of the Season
Frail in body but dangerously quick of mind, Nikandr is the sort of character who proves that curiosity can be just as perilous as any weapon. A necromancer, inventor, and problem-solver with more ambition than self-preservation, Niki approaches the world like a puzzle box begging to be opened, even when what’s inside has teeth. Blunt, dry-witted, fiercely independent, and carrying a history best left partially buried, he has a knack for making even failure feel fascinating. Whether he’s raising the dead, moving across Caido to King's End, or experiencing a hangover for the first time, Nikandr brings a wonderfully strange spark to Caido, and we can’t wait to see what trouble his brilliant mind wanders into next.
Congratulations, Niki!

As Remi struck the barrier with cold mounds of earth, the group would see the barrier radiate with magic where it was struck. This magical prismatic flare of colour would permeate outwards appearing almost to have strengthened the barrier.
Vervain 's arrow struck the barrier easily, though as it did rather than impacting it as Remi's magic had, the barrier seemed to absorb it. Seconds later an icy wind whirled outwards, its strength ten-fold of what had hit it, gusting towards the group and likely forcing them each to take a few unsteady steps backwards.
Zariah 's dual attack would prove interesting. The lightning which struck the barrier would not dissipate, but instead hold firm, energy radiating back towards the mage. It would take a significant amount of willpower on Zariah's part to make the bolt that now connected her to the barrier subside. The fire however was met with the opposite reaction to Remi's attack. The colourful radiance that had appeared to strengthen the barrier now recoiled and for a moment the world on the outside appeared perhaps a fraction more clear.
Ashetta 's attack would see results similiar to Zariah's. Instead of the lightning pouring one direction from Ashe's palms towards the barrier, the lightning girl would feel the magic flowing back against her palms, strengthened and unwieldy.
All the while after his initial assault, like Jigano, Remi wrote furiously. His handwriting became messy and unkempt, but he hardly minded. It was only as Archebold advanced towards Vervain that he put his quill down. The alchemist knew little of the history that lingered with the Yla family, and as the former captain reached out for Vai's wrist, Remi shivered slightly and tried to repress the gasp in his mouth. Knowing the feeling of what that was like all too well know, seeing Archebold ask for Vai's blood felt akin to asking her to disrobe right there in front of them all, for the intimacy that such a gesture actually brought. However as Vai's fingers flew towards the side of the ascended's face, the alchemist's jaw dropped, and like Ashe, his instinct was to rush to Vai's side.
"Perhaps—" Remi cried, halting behind Ashe, colour high in his cheeks. "You could try to touch the barrier? If you do not feel pain and do not....ahh...have the same organs to be damaged?" He suggested warily, unsure how to best get the situation back under control.
"Alright. We have tried wind, earth, fire, and lightning. I also have telekinesis, though I am not sure how that will help, as well as creation magic. Ashetta, you can still control water?" Looking towards the group, for this portion, the alchemist was merely looking to record what magic they all had at their disposal.
