LOREN
As Frey lifted Loren's chin, his breath caught in his throat. For a moment, he was speechless at their painful beauty, mind lost in a haze of pleasure. However, he forced himself to focus, to dig the painful truth out from the depths of his mind. ”No. I didn’t do it for power.” Then he squeezed his eyes shut, unable to look at them any longer for fear he might break down completely. "Or not just for power."
Taking a deep, shuddering breath (shuddering due to equal parts grief and longing) he struggled out a few more words. "I did it because it was the right thing to do. Because I shouldn't have kept it from him to begin with. Because I felt guilty, for hiding the uglier parts of myself from him, just because I thought he wouldn't like me otherwise."
Finally, he opened his eyes, and they glittered with tears even as a moan left his lips. "But I did love him. And I did risk that love by telling him the truth." The words came out in a rush, but he was speaking honestly.

But don’t be weary if it’s broken
Families are like that—
they’re split up and always torn.
