Peter stood to the side, his hands folded in front of him, and listened to Morgan’s explanation. His nose wrinkled the more she explained. It was one thing to hear about the fate of the exiled, or to read about it, but it was another thing entirely to actually be confronted by it, to be standing on the precipice of men turned beast. Even at his most desperate, he had never considered eating another person. Not intentionally.
Scouting was something he could do though, and as soon as Morgan motioned he was off, creeping before them to survey the area, then creeping back to report. Two guards, one obvious entrance. One weapon between the two of them, though that didn’t necessarily mean only one of them was armed.
