What are they? she asks excitedly - and in her amazement she lets his fin go, too distracted by the beauty of all that she's found to focus on clinging to this facsimile of safety. Dead ones- like that? Without a thought the otter dives deeper, moving like a bullet through the water to snatch a length of bone-white coral from the sea floor.
