That didn't mean they should leave whatever it was, but it certainly eliminated any possibility in Edy's mind that the thing behind the door was anything but some sort of horrific monster. Here all she'd wanted to do was score brownie points with the pretty doctor, and instead she was going to fight a hellish baby-monster thing. Great.
