As Weaver lifted the piece from the board and placed it in another spot entirely, Ludo went still. Somehow, it managed to give off the impression of annoyance. The piece she'd used rose from the board, as if from its own volition, and got tossed aside into the snow.
Tucking the board away under its rags, it straightened up. "Playtime is over. Thank you for the treat, and don't let the spirits get you." Speaking in a petulant tone, it gave out a mischievous (or malevolent?) chuckle. Then it turned, bending down to retrieve the piece it had thrown earlier. No point in going off without the full set.
Then it was soon swallowed by the frosty night.
