Despite the smoothness of Noah’s voice, Glas still jumps slightly out of his skin when the rumble reaches him. Emerald eyes flicker toward the sound, toward the man it had come from before averting his gaze once more. Had it been that obvious? Had he looked that much like a fish out of water that someone else had to come and help?
He supposes it beats having to work up the courage to ask.
He inhales a sharp breath when Noah approaches, head still ducked slightly as his fingers run along the note he’d brought with him. “I-I’m from here. If that’s what you mean.” He begins, because he should know where things were. “It’s just… Been a while since I’ve… Been here, that’s all.” He adds, gnawing on his lower lip before he looks up and squints toward the stalls. “I… Got sent with a list, it’s not usually this busy.” Even for this time of year – but there were those from the Hollowed Grounds incoming and he supposes that might add to the business of the world around him, the place he’d called home and yet remained so hidden from.
