Character of the Season
Frail in body but dangerously quick of mind, Nikandr is the sort of character who proves that curiosity can be just as perilous as any weapon. A necromancer, inventor, and problem-solver with more ambition than self-preservation, Niki approaches the world like a puzzle box begging to be opened, even when what’s inside has teeth. Blunt, dry-witted, fiercely independent, and carrying a history best left partially buried, he has a knack for making even failure feel fascinating. Whether he’s raising the dead, moving across Caido to King's End, or experiencing a hangover for the first time, Nikandr brings a wonderfully strange spark to Caido, and we can’t wait to see what trouble his brilliant mind wanders into next.
Congratulations, Niki!

Remi laughed brightly as Sam tugged him inside, his feet shuffling over Sam’s threshold as he was dragged in. With a slowly widening grin, the alchemist raised a brow waiting as Sam looked him over, slowly piecing things together. “Do I?” Remi asked with a delighted chuckle as Sam ran a hand through his hair. Snatching it, the alchemist pressed a kiss into the man’s palm, then took that hand touched it to his side. With the other hand, he raised his shirt slightly to show that not only were the bandages gone, but the scarring was as well. Previous scars remained, but the mass of disfigured tissue was now smooth again.
Pressing Sam’s door closed with his foot, Remi laughed again. “I ... met Safrin.” He said with a boyish and crooked grin, running a hand through his curls. “She healed me.” He explained.
Reaching into his pocket, Remi pulled a hand out that was cupped obviously around something. “This is for you.” Remi said, holding his hand out and waiting for Sam to extend his own to receive it. When he did, the alchemist would slowly reveal a glass paperweight, heavier than most. Within was the flower Sam had given him on their first date, perfectly preserved. “I thought it could be used to help hold books closed while you are binding them. And ... to remind you of a date that did not end up going horribly wrong.” He added with a buoyant chuckle.
