A dreamfish swims eagerly through the darkness, following Amalia. Moving through the downpour of snow and blackness, it leaves a trail of starsheen in its wake as its glowing body effortlessly navigates the snowy  air as easily as if it were back in the waters of the oasis. Adding to the light of the herd, the fish is here for the protection of the onyx-eyed child, whose songs enchanted more than just the luxere this year, yielding a gift from Safrin herself.
