But the tone that enters Sunjata's voice has him faltering a little, familiar, but not quite. There was more anger in his own father's voice, more of an unsteady roughness. Nate licks his lips, glad that something in the little he'd had was relatable. And he offers the other man a lopsided grin. "I could never really get close to her. I think... she saw a lot of my dad in us. In me." It was a fact that stung, even though it had never been said out loud. "My mother left, just before I turned eighteen." He admits, a strange kind of balance there, a reversal. It's the last thing he says about himself, before he focuses back on Sunjata completely, zeroes in on the little grin. "What was in the restricted section?"
