It's the best he's felt since he'd been attacked, the most calm, the most whole, and then he had to tear it apart, reacting too quickly to his panic.
There's a long moment, as he hears the house fall silent in the wake of his voice, where Nate stays locked where he is, shoulders stiff, his jaw clenched tightly. What else could he say, how else could he explain himself?
