JUNIPER
you think i'm happy because i'm smiling,
but it's the easiest thing to do
Juniper winced in sympathy as Ianto yelped and cursed. She'd never been shot with one of her own arrows, but she couldn't imagine it was fun. but it's the easiest thing to do
Ianto didn't need to put his hand over hers to help with the pressure, but she didn't stop him, either. Anything that might help keep his mind off the pain. His scarf was soaked almost instantly, and Juniper realized that they might have to use hers anyway, as a backup. Not yet, though: she didn't want to take the fabric away from the wound yet and risk him bleeding more. She watched as the blood soaked through onto her hand, turning her fingers scarlet ... The sight didn't distress her. As a hunter, she had seen plenty of blood on her own hands.
Juniper waited, waited -- a balancing act, a gamble. Take the scarf away too quickly, and he might just bleed even more; wait too long, and he'd suffer from blood loss. Finally: "I think it's time to take a look."
if you looked a little closer,
you'd find my eyes aren't smiling too.
