It isn't fear that grips the Alchemist as jaws close around his throat, but bloodlust. He can smell the coppery sweetness of his own blood as it fills his nostrils. Flailing against the vines that bind him to the ground, the manticore roars loudly, his fury and predatory delight a bring song from his mind into Ronin's.

Stifling the urge to pull his head up (to do so would only invite his throat to tear), instead, the Alchemist tries to raise his tail if it isn't bound down by the vines, thrusting his paralytic stinger between the tiger's shoulder blades.

What the creature is, how its stripes seem to bleed away and drip, what it's doing here and how it found them is entirely inconsequential. Perhaps once its pelt has been torn from its muscles and its bones flayed away from its flesh the Alchemist will have the mind to consider such things. For now though, he seeks only to ravage the life from this strange new beast.

Remi doesn't pull back, not wanting to damage his throat any more. He tries (if his tail isn't bound), to stab the tiger between the shoulder blades with his stinger, delivering his paralytic toxin.
