Character of the Season
Frail in body but dangerously quick of mind, Nikandr is the sort of character who proves that curiosity can be just as perilous as any weapon. A necromancer, inventor, and problem-solver with more ambition than self-preservation, Niki approaches the world like a puzzle box begging to be opened, even when what’s inside has teeth. Blunt, dry-witted, fiercely independent, and carrying a history best left partially buried, he has a knack for making even failure feel fascinating. Whether he’s raising the dead, moving across Caido to King's End, or experiencing a hangover for the first time, Nikandr brings a wonderfully strange spark to Caido, and we can’t wait to see what trouble his brilliant mind wanders into next.
Congratulations, Niki!

Remi's hands gently stroked Phoebe's hair, happy to hold her together as she beautifully came unwound. Softly he consoled, humming notes of patience and understanding as he tightened his grip around her so that she could simply feel. Closing his eyes, Remi tried to suppress the shudder of frustration and sadness he could feel shaking inside of himself, rattling up into his lungs and wedging itself in his throat. They had been told LongNight was something awful..but this? This was an unthinkable amount of pain and torture for them all to endure.
And they had been led to to believe a bit of moss would be enough.
"Well that is..." Remi swallowed. Good? Relieving? Was it though? Either it was not Brahm at all and something had stolen his memory from Phoebe's mind, or it was Brahm, who was now beyond saving.
The alchemist snorted in response and shook his head with a tentative grin. "I will keep that in mind. "
The mention of Isla made Remi's jaw tighten as he glanced over his shoulder, as if expecting to see the dark unicorn there. Only he knew that she wasn't, because he could feel her in his mind. He sighed. "Isla...the luxere herd here started to move. There was a wounded lamb out in the outskirts and a group went to aid it. Isla was with them. She was attacked by a monster and died." Remi only paused for a beat, before continuing on. "When I heard of this, I went out to retrieve her body, but found Ludo instead. We...made a deal, and Isla's soul was placed into another body. Only...it is not a human body." At that moment, as if on cue, the gentle clip-clop of hooves could be heard as Isla moved from one room to another. "She is now a unicorn." Remi concluded a bit awkwardly. But really, what other way was there to say it?
