Character of the Season
Frail in body but dangerously quick of mind, Nikandr is the sort of character who proves that curiosity can be just as perilous as any weapon. A necromancer, inventor, and problem-solver with more ambition than self-preservation, Niki approaches the world like a puzzle box begging to be opened, even when what’s inside has teeth. Blunt, dry-witted, fiercely independent, and carrying a history best left partially buried, he has a knack for making even failure feel fascinating. Whether he’s raising the dead, moving across Caido to King's End, or experiencing a hangover for the first time, Nikandr brings a wonderfully strange spark to Caido, and we can’t wait to see what trouble his brilliant mind wanders into next.
Congratulations, Niki!

His duties had kept him out of the house for a while. He merely slept here, at the side of Delphine. Having returned from Torchline at the spread of an illness meant that all of Noah's attention was pulled to his work: hunting and tending to the people of Snowcloak. It was no surprise--to anyone on the outside--as to why Delphine would feel like he was slipping away. The truth was, Delphine was Noah's first experience with love. Affection and feeding and taking care of the fire within the hearth all came easy. They were things he was good at. The things he knew in his head he needed to do -- talk with Delphine, spend time with her, plan with her, give and take and give and give again -- he was still learning to do.
And lately he was failing.
He was the cause of her anxieties. That was simply true.
He would need to be the one to mend this.
The door opened and the hunter stepped through, his arms full of dried firewood for their hearth. He hardly noticed her laying on the stitched leather couch as he moved towards the fire. He set the new bundle down in the holder with older wood, and he tended to it. He fed the fire and stoked it, "Delphine? Are you hungry?" He asked, oblivious of her state of mind.
