Character of the Season
Frail in body but dangerously quick of mind, Nikandr is the sort of character who proves that curiosity can be just as perilous as any weapon. A necromancer, inventor, and problem-solver with more ambition than self-preservation, Niki approaches the world like a puzzle box begging to be opened, even when what’s inside has teeth. Blunt, dry-witted, fiercely independent, and carrying a history best left partially buried, he has a knack for making even failure feel fascinating. Whether he’s raising the dead, moving across Caido to King's End, or experiencing a hangover for the first time, Nikandr brings a wonderfully strange spark to Caido, and we can’t wait to see what trouble his brilliant mind wanders into next.
Congratulations, Niki!

Let's decide to be the architects, the masters of our fate
The hunter moved carefully over the frozen mountainside. He did not need to think about where he was going. He could feel it. The lynx form he held now was so much better for traversing the mountainside and scouting. He chose this most often while in the Fangs. This morning, his hunt was fruitful. From his jaws hung a large, plump hare. This was the second one he caught. The first was smaller and served well for his own meal, but this one would come home with him to help feed Delphine. She did not love hare, and often poked around it, but it would flavor the broth for soup well and at least offer her some nutrients.
As he came down the mountain, Noah's attention was piqued by sparks. He paused and lowered his head, peering around a large boulder at the man who caused the lightning. The man did not belong here. At least, that was the hunter's first thought. He was severely underdressed for the environment. His jeans and shirt would give him no protection from the elements. He needed to get to the Citadel as quickly as possible. As the lightning dissipated, Noah jumped up on the boulder he was behind. He was in clear view of the man now, but his body was tense. He wanted to help the man, but was not sure if he would react violently or not.
