I’m not sure what would be best to fight against it.” There’s another huff of a sigh as she goes to retrieve her arrows and take her stance again. “I’m afraid of it. Of fire. It reminds me…” She shakes her head, never looking at him, her voice small.
Fire reminded her of her wings burning. Fire reminded her of her descent. Fire reminded her of death.
Kaos had been right all along when she’d seen herself die ablaze all those worlds ago.
