Character of the Season
Frail in body but dangerously quick of mind, Nikandr is the sort of character who proves that curiosity can be just as perilous as any weapon. A necromancer, inventor, and problem-solver with more ambition than self-preservation, Niki approaches the world like a puzzle box begging to be opened, even when what’s inside has teeth. Blunt, dry-witted, fiercely independent, and carrying a history best left partially buried, he has a knack for making even failure feel fascinating. Whether he’s raising the dead, moving across Caido to King's End, or experiencing a hangover for the first time, Nikandr brings a wonderfully strange spark to Caido, and we can’t wait to see what trouble his brilliant mind wanders into next.
Congratulations, Niki!

the devil you know is better than the ghost you don't
The world was so different. Everything was changing -- it was not just the Grounds, nor Halo. It was bigger than each of the territories. It was obvious, with the ability for each of them to explore deeper into the world of Caido than ever before. Noah knew that something was looming, a darkening over their horizons, and it made him uneasy. But his right answers were to do the next right thing, and right now that was helping Wessex clean up this makeshift destruction of a house.
The hunter took in a deep breath, as Wessex moved on and explained what the house had been. Taking a look around, Noah continued to help pick it up. Splintered fractures of wood covered the ground and he gathered it by the armful, taking it to one end and placing it all in a pile. "Do you have plans for what it will be next?" Noah asked, genuinely curious about it.
What he really wanted to know was what her next plans were for the Grounds and its people, but he wasn't sure how to ask that.
