The badger doesn’t let go, despite Sunjata’s attempts, and he stills with his steel gaze narrowing down at the badger — not necessarily wanting to hurt him, but wanting him to let go, but pausing when Loren’s voice reaches his ear. What even was that supposed to mean? He lets Loren get through his barrage of dialogue before he actually gets to the point and Sunjata sighs heavily.
At least the badger has let go of his ankle.
He rolls his ankle a bit to feel for the damage as he focuses on Loren. “It just slipped out. And yeah, I was upset. She came to me after knowing Lusea was gone, trying to help.” He growls, pausing slightly. “But that comment wasn’t what hurt her. She didn’t leave after that, after saying that I was upset about Lusea was like how she cried over men. How she was just a girl.” He pauses to let it sink in. A girl he’d lost twice.
It didn’t relate to how the midwife had lost him, how she’d lost Emmett. “If you want to actually get the events that happened, don’t bite me anymore and come to the bar.” He reaches for the items that slipped out of his arms, turning to the porch of the bar and opening it for Loren should he choose to follow.
