Sunjata snorts to Loren’s initial comment, nodding with a small smirk that crosses his face. “I have a tendency of almost always giving in to her.” He says briefly, lifting the glass to his lips and taking a deep sip, before he dives in deep about the story of him and Phoebe, of the child they almost had if it weren’t for the blight. An important detail, he soon realizes, to have. And he falls silent after, to take another drink, before Loren’s words reach him again.
“I told her we’d changed. That I wasn’t going to be what she wanted or needed.” He shrugs. “I’m not. She says she doesn’t care, but you know her. If she knew half the things… Well.” She says she doesn’t care, and yet Sunjata still heavily doubts it. He thinks she just wants to be loved by someone who could love her back, and he wasn’t sure he could do that anymore. Still, a slight nod is given to Loren. “They don’t.” A muscle feathering lightly in his jaw at that. A distant memory of murdering so many.
He takes another deep sip. “She wouldn’t have known if Frey hadn’t said anything.” A contemplative thought. “I almost wish they hadn’t said anything.”
