Zavien

Each new piece of information had the Dragoon feeling more and more nervous. Running a nervous hand through his hair, Zavien let out a nervous chuckle. "Yikes. I sure hope that doesn't happen." And if anything, he hoped those close to him would call him out. That was one of the benefits of having so many friends, he could trust them to keep him accountable and on the right path, just as they could count on him to do the same. Isn't that what friends were for?

Shifting in his seat, he looked again to Alys, smiling politely. "Well, it definitely feels like I have a general idea of where things are heading, but I can't say it makes me feel any better about it. Is this how most readings go?" Or was his a special case with all the 'doom and gloom' at the end?

Unfortunately for Zavien, Alys was simply the messenger; she interpreted the cards, but had no control over what messages the universe wished to provide to a querent. So she smiled a bit sheepishly at the dragoon, whisking the cards from the table and shuffling them back into the pile. "The cards can mean many things," she said almost apologetically. "While they aren't magic in the typical sense of the word, they do have a power all their own. And I am only human. I interpret as best I can, and at times the true meaning only becomes clear in hindsight.

"Besides,"
she added. "Remember that your decisions can change things. The future is not set in stone. You could return tomorrow for another reading and receive a different message, if perhaps you have started down a different path. It is why I often have repeat clients." A little joke, to hopefully set the poor man more at ease.

Zavien

He nodded along with her words, understanding that it ultimately came down to him and his decisions. Chuckling, he shrugged his shoulders again. "I guess that's the great thing about the future. It hasn't happened yet, so there's infinite possibilities." Some would be good, others not, but that wouldn't stop him from smiling through, looking for the good in it all.

Until then, he supposed he shouldn't overstay his welcome. She had been so polite, and he'd hate to take up too much of her business. Standing, he offered a gracious dip of his head. "Thank you for the reading - and the healing." He raised his hand as reference, again baffled by the pristine skin that had replaced the slice. Her gentle hospitality and nature were enough to convince him of her kindness and Zavien's words were genuine as he smiled. "I hope we meet again soon so I can share whatever ends up transpiring. In the meantime, watch your back for any more snakes. They're sneaky suckers." His playful wink and laughter were warm with good-hearted fun. Although he hoped she understood that there were more than just literal 'snakes' lingering about, increasing the need for caution. With a friendly wave of his hand, Zavien departed from the tent, preparing to finally find his way home again.
