Character of the Season
Once known as the Butcher of Whitebrim, he's now The Butcher of Dygra, stepping forward as the first created demigod of the Ancients. There is no question that Astaroth casts an intimidating silhouette. Tall, domineering and dangerous, if looks could kill you'd be dead already, but to get up close and personal with the Grounds' resident cannibal tells a much different story. Dripping with charm and clad in only the finest attire, Asta is a gentleman monster, as polite as they come and committed to his role as security for the Dusklight and those who have earned his loyalty. Be careful of that smile, though - those teeth are sharp.
Congratulations, Asta!

Back togehter now, the hunter breathed in. Then, Noah took up his place with one hand lightly on the rope guiding the steadied luxere beside him. He loosened his dally some, though he kept the rope draped in his grip at the front of his saddel, ready to wrap again if needed. Beforethem, the others fell into a loose but obedient cluster, their antlers casting drifting waves across the narrow forest path. The Sentinel breathed out.
The Hollow Forest pressed in close. Branches arched overhead. Noah kept his shoulders squared, seat keeping his steed's pace even. Whenever a tremor of unease rippled down the line, like snow shifting, or a branch cracking, he reached outward with his attuned pulse, smoothing the frayed edges before they could catch. The path wound deeper, shadows thickening.
Noah keeps on, sending out compulsion if needed at any point.
Marcus let out the breath he had been holding, the cold air leaving his chest in a sharp rush. Now that Amhram was back in formation, face pale(r than usual) but intact, the knot between Marcus’ ribs finally loosened. For a terrifying heartbeat he’d pictured the worst: hooves slipping, snow swallowing a body, the herd spooking in a panicked explosion of light.
He shifted his mount a little closer, not enough to disrupt the line but enough that he could glance over, confirm again that Amhram was solid in the saddle. "Guess we'll have to out riding some more." He smiled at the Raeling, the corners of his eyes wrinkling. He jested, but he still kept his ropes held tight on his luxere that were still on edge but no longer rippling with near-panic.
Marcus steadied his breath and hummed a few soft notes, letting the familiar melody guide him back into focus. The formation tightened, and they got on the move again.
Marcus is happy Amhran didn't fall and gets back in line, humming a little tune.

With Amhrana and his luxere back in tow, Deimos could finally unleash the breath he’d been holding. While the trepidation hadn’t wholly dissipated, they still needed to leave the forest, then meander their way back towards the Citadel, there was at least an evident relief. Even the luxere on his hold seemed to feel the weight meander away, and released their own puffs of air into the midst.
“Everyone all set?” he checked in, waiting for the nods, so they can persist and continue amidst the threshold. Eventually, the group would find themselves unwinding at the end of the forest trail, where the eerie, enigmatic trunks thinned out into more snow, and the Citadel in the distance – one more portion of their journey to go.
