"Oh?" Flora's nose wrinkles as she considers this, not for the first time wondering how much truth there was in Jack's words, especially with his shitty secret on the line. It would be easier for him to lie and say that it didn't go as deep as it actually did, now wouldn't it? Especially if it eased Flora's mind and kept her from doing anything rash? That would have been easy to believe were it not for his apology—no, apologies—that had rang truer than anything she'd ever heard from the captain's lips. "So it isn't always like a complete bearing of my every inner thought?"

Glancing at the captain and hating how even the simplest come sit here gesture tugged at all the frayed strings that Koa had loosened, Flora is helpless to resist. Though, if we're all being honest here, she doesn't want to. Even if Jack could pluck her needs and wants out of thin air, did it really matter? Did it make her feel worse to be manipulated than to have been picked second?

Sitting down at the captain's side, Flora looks down at him with a small smile. "What's your flavour of story? Vai told us all kinds." Heroic ones, ones where everyone died, ones about little girls locked in towers. Maybe one about sea monsters?

JACK
"It would've been easier to deny it," Jack points out mildly; he's already trundled far enough down this weird series of events without lying, why bother starting now? "But you've got the gist of it, yeah. How exhaustin' it would be to hear everyone's shit all the time." Case in point: Jack right now. "I'd never get anythin' done."

As if to demonstrate what he's just said, Flora's next barrage of inner commentary settles over him as words without real meaning - ordinarily he'd perhaps pick out bits he might find useful or keep an ear out for anything dangerous or implication, but right now? Meh.

And so instead as she swans over to sit at the edge of the bed, he turns his attention to stories and how they might serve to fill his mind with something other than pain and fucking sea shanties. "Maybe one about sea monsters," he suggests, or rather repeats, raising an eyebrow at her and smirking.

It doesn't really matter - whatever Flora chooses will be enough, in combination with the truly staggering amount of Dreamdust, to knock the good captain out in no time.

Jack being an Abandoned is common knowledge these days, however his Telepathy remains a well-kept secret:

Magic: Passive Telepathy | The user can read the surface thoughts and emotions of those within a 30ft radius. Control is excellent. Note: "Thoughts and emotions" include anything written in a character's narration in a post.
Type: Grey | Rank: Mastered

Also branded with a small star tattoo beneath his left eye.

Maybe one about sea monsters indeed. Though Flora begins the tale as one might expect—once upon a time...—eventually she lets the words fall away and merely thinks the story as it had once been told to her by Vai.

Unlike in her nona's version, the women were all incredibly busty and beautiful, and the sea serpent looked a good deal like Ronin's leviathan shift, (if only because Flora was lacking artistic representation). Only about halfway through the tale the queen's steady stream of thoughts were interrupted by the sound of Jack's snores. Glancing at him, Flora thought several salacious things in his direction to see if he was actually down and out, or just pretending. When he didn't stir, the Doubletake rose softly and padded over to his desk. Licking one of her fingers, she reached out to touch Jack's globe, thinking loudly about what she was doing before glancing over her shoulder to see if the captain had moved. When he didn't rise to even this, Flora concluded that he must be passed out for real.

With a sigh, she sat down at his desk and despite being told not to—she was the queen after all, and bored—she began to flip through various documents and maps until the Ark returned back to Torchline.
