Where does Melita dock the Firecracker when she isn't using it? How much time does she even spend aboard the ship? Does she live there?
Irrelevant to Dahlia, all of it.
Regardless, the next time the Honeybee arrives at her little schooner, it will be to a visitor seated on the railing, legs dangling over the side, bare feet enjoying the tickle of a breeze. In a pair of pale shorts and a linen shirt that looks as if it ought to belong to a man at least twice her size, the Reaper is the picture of a carefree Torcher enjoying the Flowerbirth afternoon.
And she offers a grin at Melita when she appears, flashing small, white teeth. "Hello, dear," she purrs. "I was hoping we might have a little word, you and I. No fisticuffs needed, I hope. Just a quick chat."

Melita was a possessive little thing when it came right down to it, and as soon as she saw someone touching her schooner, a powerful, potent rage began to meander through. A set of balled fists, a disgruntled glance with a furrowed brow, and a certain predacious walk to her gait –
And then she recognized the woman. Not from any other meeting, but from notice boards and sketches. Dahlia, wasn’t it? The very woman Sunjata had led into the Refuge, the one who had fucked Remi up, the one who ruled Stormbreak…
Somehow she wondered if her uncle was up to this, and she was quite ready to give someone a piece of her mind. But having died in the previous season, she wasn’t apt to just do it again upon a new one, and she settled herself. Well, somewhat.
There was still a scowl on her face as she approached, arms across her chest. “Sure.” With the greatest reluctance, and having a feeling she didn’t have much of a choice. “What about?”

Dahlia can't help the smile that spreads across her face to see the petite redhead - truly an apt match for a vessel named the Firecracker - approaches with fury on her tongue and tension bunched in her shoulders. Swinging her legs a couple more times before shifting to her feet on the deck of the schooner, she tilts her head to the Honeybee and raises her eyebrows knowingly. "I think you know what about," she trills.
"Sunjata has had a teensy little word with you, has he not?" About certain changes he's undergone in the past few seasons, as well as whatever Frey might think about it, not to mention a few other details. "I just wanted to drop by to see if there was anything I might do for you, now that you're aware of the bigger picture." It's not a threat, not yet, but doubtlessly Melita will be able to see the direction the conversation might take.

The Honeybee wasn’t one to play dumb (unless she was actually being stupid, there’s a difference) and her scowl remained as more of the subject matter seemed to be unfurling. That this involved her uncle was not even remotely surprising, because most shit seemed to still somehow lead back to him. And while he’d certainly tried to be better, this one aspect of telling everything about what was going on had uh…led them here.
Which Melita didn’t quite appreciate. There had to be some take and give here man.
Frowning, and letting one massive breath go, she considered the options. There was always lying, which wouldn’t serve either of them much of anything since they both knew better. She’d be circling the drawn lines and coming back to square one, and she wanted the woman out of her ship. “Do for me?” She inquired, brow arching. Not kill me would be ideal. “Or are you saying you want me to forget what he said?” Not spread it around (hey – she’d been good so far because she actually hadn’t said a word, look at that).

"Does it have to be one or the other?" Dahlia says with a gentle shrug of her shoulders, leaning against the side of the schooner as if very comfortable on her deck, which she is. "If you could forget about the things he told you, that would be ideal."
Straightening up, the Reaper runs her fingers down the grains of wood. "But I'm not an unfair woman - I'd compensate you fairly for your selective memory loss."
And if Melita decides not to go that route, well, the Reaper can at least say that she's tried to use honey before vinegar. (AKA, the Honeybee likely does not want to go that route).

Melita shrugged too, not losing the scowl on her face, eyes narrowing ever so slightly every time Dahlia seemed to grow more comfortable on her skyboat.
The idea of compensation did have her gaze widening for half a moment – as the Honeybee wasn’t above bribery. The schooner was a prime example. However, she had no idea of what Dahlia could extend, save for infection or death, and she wasn’t real keen on becoming some mindless puppet for anyone, or sent off to Mort’s realm so soon after her last trip. So she’d play a little, head tilting vaguely, mind putting in some thoughts that weren’t all acerbic and bitchy. “What can you offer?”

Luckily for the Honeybee, Dahlia is not a mindreader unlike some of the company she keeps, though the widening of Melita's eyes speaks of a greed that the Reaper can absolutely get behind. "A number of things," she says with a gentle shrug of her shoulder. "Perhaps something might be done to keep your little boat safe from anything lurking in the sky, for example?" She raises her eyebrows.
"Or maybe you would like to see yourself unmolested by any of these void creatures causing so much panic across the region?" Grinning, now, Dahlia inclines her head towards Melita. "Or I could just owe you a favour. I hear that many people trade in those."

Melita listened – let it be known she was capable – as the possibilities were rattled off. Safety for the Firecracker, infection (she’d heard enough details from Sunjata on some portions of what that meant), but it was the finality of the other one that had her tempted.
Because favors could encompass a whole matter of things, and as she reasoned, it made sense to her. Not death. She could protect her uncle from his yapping mouth and changed honesty, and from anyone else that might go after him. And it would buy more time to gain intel on anything else that could be done.
On the whole, a decent exchange. And if her eyes looked a little mercurial and greedier then, it wouldn’t be much of a surprise. “An owed favor then, for my silence and convenient memory loss.” Her brow arched, to see if Dahlia was in agreement.

"You have yourself a deal, my dear," Dahlia purrs, and if the mercurial greed in the Honeybee's eyes is reflected in her own, then so be it. "A pleasure doing business with you. I really do love this little vessel, you know. Look after it." Drifting her fingers across the Firecracker's railing, she eventually withdraws to stand before Melita with a smile on her full lips and satisfaction on her face.
"Until next time, then," she trills, and with little more than a wave, the Reaper is gone from Melita's presence once more. Or at least, if she's still around, she's no longer visible. The Honeybee can be left to decide whether or not she believes that to be a comfort.
