Character of the Season
Frail in body but dangerously quick of mind, Nikandr is the sort of character who proves that curiosity can be just as perilous as any weapon. A necromancer, inventor, and problem-solver with more ambition than self-preservation, Niki approaches the world like a puzzle box begging to be opened, even when what’s inside has teeth. Blunt, dry-witted, fiercely independent, and carrying a history best left partially buried, he has a knack for making even failure feel fascinating. Whether he’s raising the dead, moving across Caido to King's End, or experiencing a hangover for the first time, Nikandr brings a wonderfully strange spark to Caido, and we can’t wait to see what trouble his brilliant mind wanders into next.
Congratulations, Niki!

Leading up to their meeting, Flora wouldn't have guessed that she'd be sitting on a bench pressed up against Seren laughing about something to do with Hadama, and yet here they were. Grinning over her shoulder the Doubletake shrugged against her sister before tugging the corners of her lips into a much more sincere expression and nodding. "Same. Honestly, I kind of thought I was going to hate you." Flora admits with a one-sided shrug. "I think maybe I thought I'd be super jealous because you're actually Ronin's daughter, and...y'know." All the rest of it.
Flora was only the Knight's stepdaughter, and really, that relationship had only bloomed recently. Seren was also a demigoddess, just like everyone else in Flora's family (except she and Mateo), and Safrin's daughter. Flora was just...someone who could channel and who prayed to Safrin.
"But I'm really glad that we did this."
My house of stone, your ivy grows
And now I'm covered in you
For every tyrant, a tear for the vulnerable In every lost soul, the bones of a miracle
"Mmh, and maybe I thought I would begrudge you all the time you have had with him, while I have been... elsewhere." Turning slightly so that she could take a good, long, proper look at the girl, and properly imprint her into her memory, Seren eventually shook her head. "But no. I do not. If anything, I look forward to spending more time with you."
Raising her glass where the wine was running low and the condensation had begun to dry off, Seren smiled softly at this stranger of a woman who somehow had become her sister. Bound by the love their parents had for one another, and because they chose to be, it mattered little whether they shared the same blood or not.
"To family," she toasted, hoping to clink her glass against Flora's. "And more adventures to come."
In every dreamer a dream - we're unstoppable with something to believe in
"Eh, we didn't really talk for years." Flora says, only able to grin about it now that things had finally smoothed out. "But he's a good dad." The queen says softly, giving Seren a little nudge. He was the reason they were sisters, after all.
Happily letting her glass slide against Seren's only to realize how low they both were, Flora slid off the bench before spinning and offering her hand out. "Come on, let's get a refill and then we can go for a walk up the beach?" Flora's nose crinkles slightly with the curve of her smile as she waggles fingers bejewelled in rings for her sister to take. If she has her way, they'll soon be strolling arm in arm down the shoreline, their wine in hand with no shortage of gossip provided by the Doubletake should they hit a lull in their conversation.
