"Hey, so," Danta is saying even as he paces around his office and waits for Kiada to get down all the Important Files (aka things she has put out of reach in case he uses them for origami or gets angry and burns them), "did you know that this place like... can bottle lightning?" He's still perplexed, impressed and fascinated, honestly, turning to perch on the edge of his desk and regard the harpy with something like confused wonder.

"I only found that out the other day. And we can use it to make stuff. I don't know if that's more or less important than soldiers, given how fucking shit we'd all be in a fight against The Family, but what'd you reckon?" It isn't like Danta has ever had any regional resources to be excited by before; this is his first time.

Kiada is diligently trying to place all the important things in spaces that he can’t fuck with, which results in her half bending over the table trying to collect the multitude of origami frogs and scowling a little at them (because what the actual fuck??), that when Danta’s voice reaches her, she squints over at him with iceberg eyes with confusion. “Lightning?” She asks, straightening up to tie her dark hair back. “We could probably use it as a weapon eventually?” Brows pinching, she nods after a second of thinking (whether or not it was something that could be a weapon in the first place is irrelevant right this second).

“Sure. Hopefully there’s someone out there bold enough to collect it.” She agrees with a soft laugh, wiping her hands on her pants to rid them of any dust clinging to them. “Speaking of the Family, though, I found out some interesting things from Deimos.” She says, shifting to sit on Danta’s desk as she reaches into a drawer to withdraw a little piece of paper she’d taken home with her.

"I mean, duh. But in a bottle? That's pretty cool." Listen, Kiada - Danta is a simple man in some ways, and this is one of them. Another is in the way he bats one of the frogs out of her hands for no other reason than to set it on the desk and make it 'hop' back to her - he'd been rather proud of that one. "I guess if we start keeping a stash of them, they'll stack up," he agrees in a more business tone, just so he can say they've made that decision.

"Ah, luckily, I think I've already seen containers out in the Levinsward that do that. I'll have them bring it to us once they're full." Whoever them are - Danta doesn't know. But he'll get them their bottled lightning.

With that decided, he slumps into his seat and thumbs through a few papers that are Dusklight related and therefore relevant to his chaos causing fingers. "Oh? Did you now?" Grinning, he gestures for Kia to get comfy and spill the tea. "How is Deimos anyway?"

“Hey!” Kiada snaps, the second that Danta’s smacking the frog out of her hand, huffing a little as he sets it up to hop across to her and she pins him with an icy stare of are you fucking serious? paired with the actually audible “Dick.” She mutters, half amused.

It was kind of cool. That’s the most recognition he’s going to get.

“Can’t hurt to have.” She shrugs. Maybe they could be electric Molotov cocktails? Either way, with the matter settled of bottled Lightning, she can turn her attention to other matters. Specifically of the purple kind. “He’s good as can be, given everything.” She sighs and waves her hand, leg swaying from where she sits on his desk in front of him. “But, it sounds like air and gravity are pretty strong against it.” She begins, lifting the little paper. “Ice and earth don’t do anything.” Shrugging, Kiada’s gaze lands on Danta’s face. “I think the big players are planning on taking a trip to Starfall.” This causes a frown to form on her face and she sighs.

“In other news, Safrin told him some ways to try and recover the lost lands, if you’re interested? Given that the Greatwood’s fucked.” Nose wrinkling, she cocks her head toward him.

"Your point?" Danta grins - he is a dick, and having her call it out won't stop him. Humming his agreement and reaching out to grab a pencil and jot down a reminder to contact whoever he needed to about their bottled lightning, that's about as much of a reminder as the Maverick will give himself or anyone else, and it works as long as the paper doesn't get lost or thrown away.

"Given everything?" he drawls, slouching back in his seat once he's done writing his note. "Thought he just had a kid - aren't people meant to be overjoyed or some shit about it?" Shrugging, he settles down to listen to the actual point of her topic of conversation. "Oho, really? Now you're talking. I don't suppose fire happened to be very effective though, did it?" Raising his eyebrows and sighing, it's still better than nothing he supposes.

"Let 'em go," he adds of Starfall - it's far enough away that he doesn't have to think about it, and no one in the Grounds is strong enough to be bothered going either, he doesn't think. "I suppose it would be good to try and keep the void quite so close to our shores, though. What does Safrin recommend?"

Rolling her eyes to his quip back, she muffles the ughhghgh from under her breath as she makes her perch on the edge of his desk, leg swinging comfortably as she lists out all the fancy information her job and connection to the Sword has afforded them. “Yeah, given everything. The void shit and that voice that keeps popping into our heads.” Her nose wrinkles as she says it, pinning him with a look that seems to say hard to be overjoyed about having a kid when you’re also kind of looking down the end of potential extinction, huh? before she shakes her head to his question.

“No. Not that it does nothing, mind you. Just nothing better than normal.” Which meant her fire was just status quo, and man if that doesn’t rub against her ego in the most annoying ways.

As for the big baddies of Caido going to Starfall, she sighs a bit selfishly. “Obviously I’m not involved, but gods I swear if he misses my wedding…” She trails off, leaning back on her hand as she looks down at the piece of paper. “Here, it’s probably easier to make sense of if you read it.” She says, handing him the paper and watching him with her icy eyes for any questions he might have.

“Vi’s Roses are in the Greatwood so.. Unless it’s cleaned up, there’s probably a slim chance of snagging one of those.” Nose wrinkling, she can recall the last time they’d utilized Vi’s Roses. “Used them years ago when a lot of us got the Blight and started fucking up each other.” She can remember the black blood, the arguments with her loved ones. The memory makes her shiver.

Returning Kiada's look with one that vaguely suggests I would have no idea because I never intend on having a kid to worry about, if such a thing is possible, Danta also adds a grumble and a roll of his eyes to hear that their fire is only about as effective as most other elements. "At least it does something, I guess," he mutters. Given how many of their region are very much fire-based, it can't hurt to know that they're at least reasonably effective against a threat.

Raising his eyebrows to hear about Kiada's wedding, of all things, any thought about demigods and Starfall vanishes. "Oho, where will you be having it? Have you told Charlie? She will be thrilled," he drawls, reaching out to accept the paper and slouching back to read it, tilting his head as his eyes scan the words.

"Aw, I missed a plague?" He groans; evidently the idea of a blight is quite exciting to Danta. Oh well. "We could always try and clean it up, I guess. If anyone wants to bother." He shrugs. The Maverick isn't one to stop anyone from going out and being goodie two shoeses, but he's not the sort to volunteer himself unless it's under duress.

The look that she pins the Maverick with is entirely in agreement, even as she continues to swing her leg from where she’s sat at his desk. Because that’s exactly what she’d thought the second Deimos had told her, internally miffed that it wouldn’t have done more.

Either way, she snorts and nods, shrugging her shoulders briefly as her gaze focuses back on Danta. “Not sure yet where it will be, but Charlie has offered to help with the planning and everything. She was really thrilled.” She can’t help the slight snicker that slips from her lips before she sighs, content with the idea of that as opposed to plagues and blights.

Which, speaking of, Danta’s groan and upset at missing the Blight has her gaze narrowing on him briefly, head tilting enough that her dark hair spills over her shoulder. “Missed a couple, actually. Don’t worry, I’m sure youll get your chance.” Nose wrinkling and poking and prodding him a little, she nods at his answer for the Greatwood.

“I can see about spreading the word to clean it up?” She suggests, ice blue eyes dropping to the paper with the information sprawled on it.

"If it is anywhere but the Temple, you'll have a very disappointed tiny priestess on your hands, I hope you know," Danta warns her with a smirk. It's the only warning Kia will get, and he knows that neither of them will be able to stand up to Charlie's pure enthusiasm on the matter. "Am I invited?" he adds, almost offhandedly, a fanged grin on his face. Danta has never been to a wedding, though anyone who knows his past will well be able to imagine why.

Snorting his continued disappointment to hear that he's not missed one plague but two, even Kia's poking and prodding isn't enough to get him to do more than slump back in his chair. "Sure, knock yourself out so long as you don't get yourself killed," he says with a nod, stretching out before rolling to rise back to his feet. "Right, that's enough work. Shall we?" Leave the office and go back to doing more fun stuff, he means.

Wincing playfully at the honesty that Danta offers in regards to Charlie being disappointed that it might not be held at the Temple, the Harpy nods with a huff of a laugh. “I still have to decide and talk to Fox. Lots of those I consider family aren’t too excited about being in the Grounds all that often.” She admits with a softer little twist of her smile, until her icy gaze zeroes in on Danta like he’s insane. “Of course you’re invited, what the fuck?” A chime of laughter escapes her and she shakes her head.

As for plagues missed and potentially recurring, Kiada offers her plans for spreading the news, already preparing to settle in and figure out how best to share the information when Danta stretches and prepares to leave. “Yeah, well, I’ve already died once. Don’t plan on doing it again.” Snorting, she hops off the desk and slips that little paper with the details back into Danta’s desk, before following him out. “Sounds good to me.”
