Character of the Season
Frail in body but dangerously quick of mind, Nikandr is the sort of character who proves that curiosity can be just as perilous as any weapon. A necromancer, inventor, and problem-solver with more ambition than self-preservation, Niki approaches the world like a puzzle box begging to be opened, even when what’s inside has teeth. Blunt, dry-witted, fiercely independent, and carrying a history best left partially buried, he has a knack for making even failure feel fascinating. Whether he’s raising the dead, moving across Caido to King's End, or experiencing a hangover for the first time, Nikandr brings a wonderfully strange spark to Caido, and we can’t wait to see what trouble his brilliant mind wanders into next.

Considering the fact that her abilities didn't really include 'restoring of the land,' Thal wasn't even fazed by the seared grass or that possibility that it might not be able to regrow. She was more distracted by Noah's struggles with his own opponent. The playful teasing gave her the impression that he didn't need saving, so she decided to focus on the other instructions, glancing around at the explosive carnage of orange fruit.
As she made her way through, Thal sorted between blackened ash and mushy innards, wrinkling her nose at the unenjoyable scent. Her smile had fallen with the dip in her heartrate, adrenaline fleeing her body. It left her with an emptiness that called to be filled. Having already given her name, she shot the behemoth of a man another searing glare. "I didn't catch your name." It wasn't a question, and she didn't phrase it as one, expecting to finally know the identity of her mystery tormentor all those months ago.
Thalassa gathers the remains of the Vampire Gourds, making two piles: edible and charred.

Missing the creature was not expected for as much damage as his spirit stag had managed to do. The Forsaken couldn’t help but appreciate, however, the fervor and ferocity with which the gourd came roaring for him. It wrapped its vines around him and he heard Deimos’ question, but never took his eyes off the gourd.
”I’m good. This is a fiesty one.” Noah said with a bit of a snorting chuckle as the gourd tried to devour his toes through his boot. He reached down to try and grab the creature by its top stem and then throw it to the ground, effectively — hopefully, anyway — smashing it open for the world to see.

The cleaning process was relatively smooth – the Sword arched a brow again at another one of Sah’s shifts became paramount – distinctly not a gore crow. Muffling the laughter to himself, he started sorting out portions of plants that had been rendered burnt or laced with acid per their prior attacks. Earthen incantations unfurled and renewed what had been mauled; as if they’d never been there in the first place.
Even if the piles of vampire gourds said otherwise.
There would already be enough to grant the local bakeries some surplus, and he figured the opposing assortment would be set aflame and done away with. His eyes flickered over to Noah, who finally obliterated the pesky pumpkin, and he might have paid attention to the would-be thief had other things not been brought to his focus.
Namely, Belial screeching overhead.
His gaze went towards where the companion bond sorted and snagged through; and the sight of the next hoard contorted through their shared sentiments. “We should head to the water,” he motioned towards the rest of them, long strides already sweeping along a makeshift and flattened trail. Zuriel gave Thalassa a typical mare stare – pinned ears and a haughty demeanor – before following.
They’d known this particular group was gathering, but the damage done was still surprising. Already there was one raft floating about, its rope severed and one gourd on top of it (either through logic or happenstance; regardless, it seemed very content), and three others aching to destroy the surroundings. A singular beast appeared to be floating – a warning to them all. “Watch out for that one.”

Whether it was through deliberate ignoring or unintentional distractions, Thal didn't care. She didn't appreciate the lack of response. Dropping the piece of gourd from her hands with pointed anger, she shot him another glare and moved to join the others against the new horde of Vampire Gourds.
The unicorn's expression made her want to stick out her tongue at it. She'd never liked equine creatures. Their hooves were creepy. This one was no different. She decided to keep her distance from the glorified horse and its irritating owner as she assessed the strangely coordinated attack of the pumpkins. Selecting one of the destructively inclined monsters, Thal unsheathed her dagger, running its blade along the sheath to produce Dygra's flame, then used the spark to fuel her own magic, throwing it out to engulf the gourd.
Thalassa strikes her dagger against her sheath to ignite her fire and attack Destroyer Gourd 2 with her magic.

Still shifted, Sah eyes the next wave of gourds. One was clearly corrupted, but the others appeared to be normal vampire gourds. The one sitting on the raft is amusing, and given its peacefulness, he can hopefully catch it by surprise. The hybrid hasn't tested the strength of his avian form and a target such as this should suffice.
Circling the resting gourd from up high, the raven then dives down. At the last moment, Sah spreads his wings to regain altitude, slashing with his talons as he does so. They weren't as large as a raptor's, but they were sharp and strong. Surely, they could do some damage against a vampire gourd.

With his first gourd dealt with, Noah was able to gather with the rest of them as they finished cleaning the aftermath of the small massacre. Belial screeched and Eira’s attention pulled to where he signaled, flashes and directions following to Noah’s mind. Deimos iterated the next command, and the hunter followed. Stepping through the foliage into the proximity of the water, he took the surroundings in quickly. Several more gourds of all varieties.
Gritting his teeth slightly, Noah sent his spirit stag out again and attacked the group of destroyer gourds. Perhaps the fire from his stag could be useful to the ancient — who he knew now as “Thalassa” from her introduction. Vi’dore kept close to Noah, ready to administer some healing should it be necessary (but his eyes swept towards Zuriel, where he wanted to be).

Already keen and experienced with hunting these cretins from the earlier round of warm-ups, the group started off mildly lackluster. Thalassa, while wonderful at improvising her fiery technique, failed to land a hit on the second gourd, leaving it bounding and leaping, rumbling and growling, and ripping up the local vegetation. She was still far enough away that it was no threat to her, but it was headed her way.
The raft gourd, likely having the time of its life, was cut short of any future enterprises by Sah ‘s sharp talons digging in. It screeched in pain, striving to entangle its vines around the raven’s legs as he soared by – but the newly turned hybrid would continue into the air, unscathed. It continued further into the middle of the watery area, the raft adrift until it bumped into an unseen log.
Noah ‘s efforts weren’t in vain either – the erupting and ensuing spirit stag tromping through once again. It did a multitude of damage upon the tightly-clustered gourds (had the second one not been in pursuit of the Ancient, he might’ve gone in on a trifecta). They screeched in alarm, also intending to bound the demigod’s way, though much slower and impacted by the damage concocted upon them.
All of this meant Deimos was left with the hovering and possessed pumpkin – snorting at its antics as its glowing eyes seemed to be targeting him as well. Far out of range of its ridiculous nature, however, he remained unbothered by its aspects (if not a bit curious at what it would strive to achieve). Instead of launching flames, he settled for an alteration in elements, intending to decimate and maul with nearby rocks and the ground, where the earth contorted under his control, snagging at the beast and pushing it downwards.

Thalassa has missed Destroyer Gourd 2. It’s heading in her direction.
Sah has hit Raft Gourd. The raft is drifting further into the middle of the water, but is stuck on a log.
Noah has hit Destroyer Gourd 1 and 3. They’re heading for him, but very slow.
Deimos has hit the Possessed Gourd and is currently pinning it to the ground.
Sah is pleasantly surprised at how much damage his talons do on the raft gourd. It's a far cry from the damage that he can do with magic, but it's more effective than if he'd just punched the menace. Given the success, he decides to repeat the action when the raft gets stuck. It'll be more trouble for them all if the gourd's little boat gets loose and ends up who knows where.
Circling around, he once again tucks his wings and dives. This time the raven comes from a different direction to avoid being predictable. At the last second, Sah's wings snap open and his talons strike out as he tries to finish off the gourd and get out of range should he fail.

It was frustrating to see her attack miss, but all it did was encourage her to consider alternative attacks. Noticing that Sah seemed to be having good luck with his flying shift, Thal decided to give it a try. Letting her flames fade out, she sheathed her dagger and let the magic lengthen her spine into the larger lyvern form. With a strong beat of her wings, she took flight.
The Destroyer Gourd may have been heading her direction, however, Thal took it upon herself to close the distance. Tucking in her wings, she let out a loud roar of attack as she dove. She hoped the sound might shock it enough to pause the swinging limbs and give her a clear shot to rip it apart with teeth and claws. The sharp appendages glinted in the little light, ready to obliterate the creature.

His attack provoked the gourds to come towards him. The damage they sustained made them slower, and the Forsaken held his ground. He could hear Vi’dore shuffle his cloven hooves behind him as he took a few steps back to steady himself. The unicorn snorted threateningly and lowered his bearded face to point a horn straight for them, but he too held the ground he had.
Noah didn’t even lift a hand. He merely conjured another spirit stag. The sunlit stag charged again for the gourds, its massive rack lowered to decimate and destroy. Noah’s eyes flicked from the gourds under siege of his stag to the others, making sure to keep tabs on the rest of the goings on and not stay pinholed in focus to his situation.

The assaults seethed and persisted from both sides. Sah and his talons surged and decimated, until eventually they dug within, leaving the gourd little time but to grumble into demise. It slipped from the hybrid’s grasp and eventually fell into the water itself – leaving the raft still stuck on the log.
With the Raft Gourd gone, this left four to demolish. Thalassa ’s decision to shift was a good one – at least on fortune’s side – as she twisted her teeth and claws into the much smaller gremlin. Unfortunately, it also left her wide open for an assault, and its vines wrapped around one of her legs, small fangs striving to dig into her tougher exterior.
Somehow, Noah ’s spirit stag went obscenely wide – dashing well past both Destroyer Gourds; and leaving him vulnerable and open to their deluge. Luckily for him, the pair were ridiculously slow, leaving him time to either move out of the way of their dangling vines, or apply another movement.
Deimos still remained far out of the Possessed being’s range – snorting as it swished vines around and continued hovering above ground. With a blank look on his face, continuing to be unimpressed, he shot another unfurling of earth and stones, managing to knock it asunder and down into the grass.

Sah has killed the Raft Gourd – he may want to retrieve the raft and bring it back to shore. Or help an ally. XD
Thalassa has hit Destroyer Gourd 2, but it has done the same to her.
Noah has missed Destroyer Gourd 1 and 3; but they’re also very, very slow and still heading for him.
As her teeth and claws made their way through the skin of the gourd, she nearly spat out the disgusting taste. Before she got the chance, a very uncomfortably restrictive sensation made its way up her back leg. She could swear there were teeth attached to the vine-y appendages, trying to sink past her scales. Not wanting to give it a chance, Thal used another leg in an attempt to rip it off.
Keeping her grip on the creature, an idea came to mind. She lifted a little higher in the sky before tucking her wings to dive down towards the ground. A low growl accompanied her descent, a warning for the others as well as a deep-seated satisfaction at the anticipated destruction to come. Thal extended her legs, bracing to smash the gourd between her and the ground.

Sah lets out a caw as the small gourd is finished off before his sight turns back to the rest of the group. The raft can be retrieved or destroyed later. There are more pressing matters at hand. Tilting his wings, he swiftly flies back to shore.
Thalassa and Deimos each face one gourd, so the hybrid focuses his attention on Noah, diving down to land near him, calling out a warning through the bond. I'm about to land near you, Noah! Both of the creatures in the Demi-god's sights look worse for wear already. As soon as he's close enough that a small drop won't hurt him, Sah begins to shift. His wings vanish, and paws of stone and fire land on the bank. Hopefully, his sudden appearance will startle the guards into inaction, at the very least. The Wild Thunder quickly turns and (if time) sends acid at the closest gourd

Sah flies over land beside Noah, shifting back into his Fyrhund form. If there is still time in this round, he'll also send a splash of acid at Destroyer Gourd 1.

The spirit stag went wide and far and Noah frowned at his luck. It was unusual for this particular magic to miss, especially with how slow the targets were moving. Sah alerted then over the bond and Noah made sure to leave a space open for the Wild Thunder, but didn’t get too far away. Alright,
He heard the rumble of the other gourds and their assaults, too, and knew his next move. Knowing he couldn’t linger on the disappointment long, with eyes flicking between the slow moving targets and his comrades and their battles, Noah ignited his divine opposition. The bright, brilliant dome covered the a large area of the glade.
