sah Sah could hear the games beginning and it dawned on him that he hadn't informed Stephanie how to guard, leaving it up to her. but he hoped that she was taking measures to protect their flag. Perhaps traps? He was tempted to reach out and ask but he using the Attuned bond would alert anyone listening in about the plan. He could only hope. More importantly at the moment, it seemed that he had been spotted. Still, if Hunter was coming from the opposite direction, chances were that he was leaving the base. If he could take down the Accepted, he could trace back and get the green flag. The hybrid flew down and shifted to land on four molten paws. As he did so, they fyrhund lunged, attempting to pin and thus tag, the man. ~ Sah flies down, shifting into his fyrhund form in the process and attempting to tackle/tag Hunter. Things seemed to go wrong very quickly. She'd assumed the girls would want to work together, but they immediately separated, going for two different targets simultaneously. From her post at their own flag, Elizabeth sighed, trying to analyze how to salvage the situation. If Emma wasn't careful, Frederick would easily be able to sneak up behind her while she futilely tried to sniff him out. And she had no idea how Gala would stack up against Rhi. They couldn't risk losing a team member this early. 

Cupping her hands around her mouth, she shouted to Gala first, who was attacking and being attacked by Rhi, "Gala, stand clear! Help Emma!" She then raised her hands, directing the lingering static electricity in their direction. Sah's instructions echoed through her mind as she guided the lightning straight towards their opponent, careful to avoid her teammate and control the strength to prevent killing her.

While the magic rippled through her, Elizabeth tried to shout towards Emma, "Focus on the flag!" She didn't know if they'd listen to her, but she didn't have time to see, eyes narrowed to focus on controlling the lightning.

The descent into chaos presented intriguing opportunities and moments – and how risk coincided with either reward or dire consequences.

Rhiannon had some crucial moments. As Gala’s whip flew towards her, her rapid use of her sword, and clear training, aided in ensuring the flash of the lash never touched her. Gala could only back away at her leader’s command, with a clear and vivid snarl on her face, but out of the range of Elizabeth’s lightning. It was then, of course, that the Red Team’s leader couldn’t touch the soldier, leaving Rhiannon open to tag or take.

The rest of the hybrid’s team served her well; Daniel’s building at their base ensured the flag was carefully hidden behind layers of snow and rime – and would potentially slow anyone down looking for the crimson flag. Hunter, on the other hand –

Well, that’s where Sah ’s adventures came in.

While the Blue Team was content in some portions (Stephanie was very happy as a ningo, making false nests amidst areas where someone might think a flag could be), and Frederick was creeping upon Emma, the Wild Thunder had opted to be bold. Why not divebomb a competitor?

Except his fall, either due to less practical means or an unfortunate landing exercise, ended up with him catapulting directly into the snow. And certainly not upon Hunter, who’d been watching and tracking his movements. With a simple step over, Hunter claimed the first tag – touching the crow. “Off to our jail!” He offered gleefully.

(All three watchful sets of eyes – including Deimos, Figgy, and Ziel, grimaced. You all right? the Warden offered through the bond to Sah.)

Due to Elizabeth ‘s orders, of which she now yearned to comply with, Emma rolled her eyes and ceased tracking; incapable of finding the man’s scent anywhere. And while that was certainly irritating, she’d have to concentrate on other things, and maneuvered her hulking wolf form towards the Blue Team’s flag. Unbeknownst to her, the invisible Frederick had launched, unsuccessfully, at her from behind.

Hunter has successfully tagged Sah and Sah is now heading to the Green Team’s jail.

Frederick has tried to tag Emma, and missed. Emma is headed towards the Blue Team’s flag.

Rhiannon's sword successfully deflected the incoming whip, and the hybrid grinned gleefully as she managed to bypass that attack while staying out of range of Elizabeth's lightning. Somewhere behind her, Daniel continued his task, hiding their flag further beneath the snow. Rhi sprinted for the Red Team's flag, opting to reach out and attempt to grab it and then bolt back toward her own base.

Somewhere behind her, she heard Hunter call out, victorious, and the woman risked a glance over her shoulder to spot him tagging - well, to be honest, she wasn't quite sure. Whoever it was had been shifting on the way down, and Rhi didn't dare pause long enough to decipher exactly what was going on there. In any case, it seemed that her team was faring well enough in the chaos, and she only had to do her part now.

She hadn't necessarily underestimated her opponents, but she certainly hadn't predicted Rhi dodging a whip and a bolt of lightning. At least Gala seemed to be listening a little better, getting clear of the shot herself; however, Elizabeth didn't have time to analyze recent events or direct her teammates - the Blue Team's leader was sprinting right towards her.

Settling back onto her heels, she ran her palms over her jacket to generate the sparks to fuel her magic then lifted her hands to the soldier threatening to steal her flag. Elizabeth narrowed her eyes and released the lightning at Rhi. Her previous attack may have failed, but with the closer range, she felt like the odds were more on her side this round (hopefully).

sah Sah had a brief moment to process that he had miscalculated before the fyrhund crashed headfirst into the snow, sending up a puff of powder around him as Hunter tagged his back. I'm fine! Laughter echoed through the bond, even as the words were tinged with embarrassment. Don't ever let me try to shift in midair ever again. Even if his pride stung, Sah could certainly see the humor in his spectacular landing. The infernal hound stood up and shook off the melting snow. As he turned to head towards the green jail, he playfully nudged Hunter with his shoulder. There. Tagged. If only. As he walked, Sah didn't take any shortcuts, eyes scanning the terrain for any flags or jails that he could keep in mind when he was hopefully freed. Stephanie needed to stay and defend but hopefully Frederick would spot the Wild Thunder and come to his aid. Unless the Abandoned saw a prime opportunity to tag someone that he couldn't pass up. ~ Sah goes straight to jail, using the enhanced senses of his fyrhund shift to try and spot any flags or other jails as he walks. NPC movement: Stephanie: Keep doing her thing. Frederic: Help Sah get out of jail OR if there's a golden opportunity, tag someone, do that.

With Deimos satisfied at Sah’s response, he and his fellow soldiers remained on the sidelines, intrigued by the rampant movement.

Red versus Green conspired in a flash. Rhiannon had been incredibly successful in the last round, but gods if the tables hadn’t turned on this venture. Striving for the flag, Elizabeth ensured, through either perseverance, good fortune, or a middling of both, that the hybrid was instantly stunned, incapable of going forward. To which Gala promptly ran up and tagged. “Well done,” she grinned – beginning to take Rhiannon to their jail.

Emma, meanwhile, was heading for the Blue Team’s flag, with Frederick invisibly on her heels. He wouldn’t need to worry though, for while the woman searched amidst the false areas Stephanie had concocted, said ningo began to glide down, promptly tagging the other woman with a light chirrup.

Along the Green Base, Daniel continued working, giving Sah no vantage as he walked by, striving to scout out the surroundings. The Wild Thunder would find himself housed under banners and an overhang from a local bakery, the temptation of sweets and bread teasing and taunting. Hunter was busy swearing as he heard Rhiannon get tagged, trying to decide if he should help guard or go rescue Rhiannon.

It's by the bakery. How dare they put the jail by the bakery. Sah's ears drooped as he approached and the fyrhund couldn't resist. Shifting into his regular wolf form to be less scary, the canine reached up on his hind legs and gently knocked on the window with a large paw before sitting down patiently, putting on his best puppy-dog eyes. Hopefully the baker would appear and take pity on him with an offering of sugar.

Sah couldn't do anything while he waited to be freed but hopefully his team would stick to their plan. Even better if Frederick could free him. Both from jail and the cruel and unusual punishment being inflected upon his sweetooth.

As her lightning connected, Elizabeth sagged slightly with relief. After quickly assuring herself that Rhi wasn't seriously injured - and properly tagged - she gave Gala a wide smile. "Thanks. Good work." Now they only had two flags to catch along with dodging the remaining players. Easy, right?

Apparently not, especially as Elizabeth spotted a wolf being guided within Blue Team's base. She huffed out a breath and turned to her remaining teammate. "Darn. I think they got Emma." Hoping she wouldn't run off after her friend, Elizabeth tried to salvage the situation, keeping in mind that they had to guard a prisoner now. "We should play it safe for a few minutes to see if they start going after each other or if Green Team tries to come for their leader. If there's a gap, maybe we can free Emma and grab their flag." As she spoke, she twisted her hands around their base, trying to mold the snow around them into a wall/moat. Starting next to the flag, she pulled it up into a mound that dipped on the outside, hopefully slowing any incoming opponents. Biting her lip in concentration, she asked Gala, "Can you keep watch for a minute?"

And then she was briefly stunned by lightning, of all things, rendering her motionless as she was tagged by Red Team and escorted to their jail. She cursed silently, disappointed that the very thing to destroy her play for the flag was the only magic that she herself was capable of wielding. Perhaps if she hadn’t been so focused on the flag, she’d have seen the incoming shot and been able to redirect it.

But the soldier was nothing if not adaptable, and she looked around once she was in jail, pondering her options. If one of her teammates was able to rescue her, then perhaps she could grab the flag on her way out.

Sah, unfortunately, would learn that Deimos had already informed many merchants of the local stores of their little game. So as puppy-dog eyes basked in windows, the worker going by rolled her eyes, and promptly pulled the shade. The aroma would simply have to be enough to tantalize him.

Stephanie, meanwhile, did her utmost best, fluffing herself up once more as now resident guard of Emma – ignoring her entirely as the soldier babbled on and on about clothing and newest styles, and why hadn’t she been grabbing some of the latest…

Frederick was having a much better time – invisible and stealthy, he’d begun to sneak his way into the Green Team’s base, striving to make a beeline for Sah. However, he wouldn’t be totally outdone, for Daniel’s guarding and shrewd eyes noted the footprints made in the snow, beginning to follow them.

Elizabeth and her efforts weren’t to be thwarted by anyone other than herself; the snow didn’t meld and mold quite the way she would’ve liked. Slipping and sliding out of her grip, she ended up making nothing more than a few haphazardly placed mounds. It was a good thing Gala was watching, for no sooner did she see Hunter trying to scurry around the corner, intending to rescue and liberate Rhiannon.

Which lead us to the hybrid – hanging out and observing. At least she didn’t have a bakery nearby to tease.

Rhiannon was antsy. There was nothing she could do to help her team from jail, and it grated on her nerves. All she could do was sit and stew on her failure to capitalize on her good luck. Still, she watched the interplay of participants. It looked like Sah was in jail - or at least she assumed it was Sah that was the wolf who didn’t appear to be paying attention to the game at hand. It also looked like Elizabeth was trying to do something with the snow, but Rhi couldn’t quite discern what.

Hunter was coming for her, it appeared - but Rhi wasn’t the only one who had noticed, and her mind spun with ways she could try and help from here. Suddenly, the hybrid gasped and pointed in another direction. ”Watch out!” she shouted, hoping to distract Red Team long enough for Hunter to get her out.

The snow was not cooperating with her telekinesis, but that didn't really surprise her. Maybe if she had something more like water magic it'd be easier, but alas, she'd have to put aside the idea for now, especially as Gala spotted someone coming their way.

The same moment she heard the Green Team's leader call out, Elizabeth was shouting to her teammate, "Try to catch him, but don't let him get to Rhi!" She noticed a wooden board leaning against their structure and reached for her telekinesis. A quick plan formed, which started and ended with stopping Hunter. Using her magic, she shifted the wood in an attempt to trip the man's feet. Even if it didn't, maybe she'd be able to distract or slow him enough for Gala to capture him.

The shade fell and Sah’s head snapped over to shoot Deimos a look of wolfy disbelief. Did you see that? His ears drooped and the wolf scratched the ground with one of his paws, not unlike a toddler stomping his foot. That was just mean.

Needing to escape the sweet sugary torture, Sah returned to his human form. Even without a wolf’s enhanced senses, there was no escape.

Restless, the hybrid began to pace the jail, watching the chaos unfolding around him.

Sah wasn’t sure if Frederick had spotted him and he didn’t want the man to get caught in the process. The green and red teams seemed to be keeping each other busy at the moment.

If Sah could just get free, he could take advantage of their distraction and fly off with one of their flags.
