Character of the Season
Frail in body but dangerously quick of mind, Nikandr is the sort of character who proves that curiosity can be just as perilous as any weapon. A necromancer, inventor, and problem-solver with more ambition than self-preservation, Niki approaches the world like a puzzle box begging to be opened, even when what’s inside has teeth. Blunt, dry-witted, fiercely independent, and carrying a history best left partially buried, he has a knack for making even failure feel fascinating. Whether he’s raising the dead, moving across Caido to King's End, or experiencing a hangover for the first time, Nikandr brings a wonderfully strange spark to Caido, and we can’t wait to see what trouble his brilliant mind wanders into next.

Sah held the package of veil fungus in hand as he knocked on Mr. Vardic's door. The grizzled man opened the door, face brightening marginally at the sight of the hunter. Sah handed over the package, 'It probably won't use useful until we cleanse the Tundra, but I wanted to get you something as a thank you for always looking out for the pups. I figured it would come in handy on keeping things on your sled.' The musher took the box and upon opening it to find veil fungus nets, grinned widely, firmly shaking the hybrid's hands, 'It'll be useful! No thanks necessary. I'm always happy to watch the little ruffians.' After a few more pleasantries, and the promise to drop the arctic pups off soon to play with Mr. Vardic's sled team, Sah gave the man one last wave from the street as the door was closed.
The Wild Thunder was pleased that the eclectic Halovian had appreciated the gift. Sah would have to thank Alys again for helping him to pick it out.

Rhiannon walked leisurely down the street, her hands in her pockets, on her way to her designated patrol route for the day. She had plenty of time, having left a little early after giving her parents the gift she'd procured for them while shopping with Melita: a weapons rack for their home, since their old one was starting to fall apart. It wasn't a particularly sentimental gift, but the Cassidys weren't particularly sentimental people, and her parents had accepted the present with enthusiasm.
The soldier rounded a corner and spotted a familiar face. She didn't know Sah that well, but apparently Tal did, and that was a good enough recommendation for her. Besides, the Wild Thunder had been kind when they'd met before. So she had no qualms about calling out a hello with a friendly wave. "Hey, Sah!"

Sah's head turned at the sound of his name and he recognized the soldier approaching. Grinning he turned on his heel and met her halfway "Hey, Rhiannon. How are you doing today?" His fellow hybrid was becoming a more familiar face lately and it was nice to have yet another person in Halo that he could rely on to defend their home.
Yet, Rhi was still holding out on him. From what he understood, Rhiannon and Tal had known each other as kids. That meant that the soldier likely had plenty of ammo for blackmailing or teasing the courier. Sah needed the intel for the next time that Tal did something stupid and drove him up a wall.

Sah greeted her with a grin, which Rhiannon returned. ”Oh, can’t complain,” she told her fellow hybrid. At least, she couldn’t complain yet. After all, things were fine, all things considered. ”I’m just on my way to my patrol,” she said, gesturing down the street. ”How about you?”
Unfortunately for Sah, Rhiannon was tight-lipped when it came to her friends. She didn’t have many, and even fewer from childhood, so she wasn’t inclined to gossip about them, especially with someone she barely knew.
Now, if she somehow found out that Tal and Sah were close (ish)… well, then she might be persuaded to open up a little bit.

Suddenly there is nothing but ice and wind all around you. Like being plunged into a whirlwind the air grows even more bitterly cold than it already was, and though you try and struggle against it, you feel your feet beginning to slip.
Before you know it there is a sudden SCHWAACK. Snow falls from the sky and you suddenly realize that there are two water elementals only a few meters ahead of you. They seem to be playing a game of…ice-ball-tag? Whatever it is they’re doing, it’s extremely dangerous.I’d…leave them to it, if I were you.
You’ve encountered a water elemental! This counts as a rare creature encounter for the purposes of levelling, but does not count as a Random Event for levelling or MP. There will be no further admin/re intervention. If you choose to follow this creature, you do so at your own risk, however, just having it in this thread is enough to satisfy your levelling requirements. You may not kill your rare creature without admin permission.
Water Elementals (Uncommon/mythical): Not much is known about these creatures other than that they appear during particularly nasty storms. With the ability to manipulate the water in the icy-landscape as well as that within your body, water elementals range from incredibly dim-witted to quite clever.
"Good. Just dropped something off for a neighbor." Sah was about to say something else when there was a shift in the wind. His eyes widened as he sidestepped a shower of ice and snow. Brow furrowing, he glanced at Rhiannon. "It looks like your patrol came at the right time. We should probably clear the area until these two are done." Intervening and attempting to scare off the elementals would at best only lead to chaos and property damage. It wasn't worth it, not when they were in the center of the Citadel.
It was far wiser to evacuate the citizens from this section of the town until the two entities moved on.

Whatever Rhiannon was about to say was interrupted by the appearance of the water elementals, which appeared to be having a grand time despite - or perhaps because of - the fact that they were disrupting everyone else’s day. Rhi dodged the sudden onslaught, making a face at the creatures as they stuttered this way and that, leaving gusts of icy wind in their wake. ”You’re probably right,” she said to Sah. ”Do you mind helping? It’ll go faster with the two of us.”
With that, and whether or not Sah stayed to help, Rhiannon moved to usher citizens out of the way, detouring them around the playing elementals along side streets and alleys. Fortunately, none of Halo’s inhabitants seemed to want to get in the creatures’ ways, for it took hardly any time at all before the street was clear.

Sah nodded, flashing a small grin. "Of course. I said 'we' didn't I?" He quickly settled into the motions of directing citizens away and navigating children who had been out playing back to their respective adults. A few complained, wanting to join the elementals in their game. The Wild Thunder had had to negotiate compliance with the promise of a snowball fight later.
Once the situation was handled, Sah jogged over to meet up with Rhiannon. The elementals continued their game, and the older hybrid made sure to keep them in his peripheral vision.
"That should do it. Do you want me to keep an eye on them while you finish your patrol?" Even if the street was clear now, it was too risky to leave the creatures to their own devices.

The pair worked well together, shooing citizens away and out of the path of the water elementals, keeping an eye on the battling creatures as they worked. It didn’t take long for the streets surrounding the mess to clear, and then they reconvened.
When Sah offered to keep an eye on the elementals while she finished her patrol, Rhi smiled gratefully. ”Could you?” she asked. ”It would be a big help. I’ll buy you dinner after.” And with that settled, Rhi left Sah to tend to the elementals and went about her patrol.
