Character of the Season
Frail in body but dangerously quick of mind, Nikandr is the sort of character who proves that curiosity can be just as perilous as any weapon. A necromancer, inventor, and problem-solver with more ambition than self-preservation, Niki approaches the world like a puzzle box begging to be opened, even when what’s inside has teeth. Blunt, dry-witted, fiercely independent, and carrying a history best left partially buried, he has a knack for making even failure feel fascinating. Whether he’s raising the dead, moving across Caido to King's End, or experiencing a hangover for the first time, Nikandr brings a wonderfully strange spark to Caido, and we can’t wait to see what trouble his brilliant mind wanders into next.

Sah snickered, "Yes." He didn't pry into where Caly had been before, assuming she'd have stated it if she wished to share. When she stood, the star caught his eye for a moment and Sah's mind went to another young woman he'd met not that long ago. One who looked an awfully lot like the one before him.
The hybrid tilted his head, looking up at her, "This might an odd question. But are you Nova's sister?" His fellow hybrid hadn't mentioned siblings, but the resemblance was clear, as was the age. The star was a substantial clue as well if the two were truly related. Did Safrin have another daughter running around?
“Good, ‘cause I do.” She boasts proudly, her grin brightening a touch as she snickers herself, letting her amusement beam to the surface. But she doesn’t expect the next statement, enough that her head tilts curiously back at him as the hybrid tilts his head toward her – her amber gaze studying his face before she raises a blonde brow.
Oh, if Nova knew him, then that was just more fuel for later. She rolls back onto her heels a little as her smile brightens and widens, shrugging her slender shoulders. “I might be.” She can’t help but to be playful, not giving too much information yet not giving too little. “What gave it away?” She leans in now toward Sah’s space, curious to see what he has to say in response.
Sah les out a huff of laughter at Caly's response. Definitely a torcher.
So, she was Nova's sister. The hybrid raised his head to keep eye contact as the Attuned invaded his space. Pad let out a quiet rumble but fell silent when Sah placed a hand on the dark wolf's shoulder. When the companion settled, Sah explained himself, counting off his observations on his fingers. "A few things. The star under your eye was what made it click into place."
"There's definitely a family resemblance. And you speak and act as if you've only ever lived in Torchline but weren't born here. I'm guessing you grew up in your mom's domain before coming here?" That seemed to be rather standard for Safrin's children. Seren had done the same. Sah leaned forward, resting his chin on his palm as a playful smirk formed, "Did I miss anything?" Caly's energy was infectious, and the hybrid couldn't help but play along. With Tal living in another region now, the Wild Thunder had missed bantering. Who was he supposed to tease in Halo, now? Deimos?
Her smile brightens imperceptibly to hear his huff of laughter, focusing wholly on the hybrid even as Pad lets out a sound. Her gaze doesn’t stray – the bright golden amber of her gaze focuses on his face as he details out everything that’s blown whatever false cover she’d been playing around with. And he makes quite a few valid points, allowing her to snicker as the smirk forms on his face and he leans forward toward her in turn and she doesn’t stray from their closeness at the moment, bold and playful as she is.
“Nah I think that pretty much sums it up.” She sighs dramatically, but the twitch of the smile on her face remains as she winks at him. “I watched Torchline a lot from the stars.” She confirms, tittering a little with the tone of her voice as if it were any other day growing up rather than being one of Safrin’s daughters. As if it were a purely normal thing to do.
Sah let out a soft hum, "Can't say that I blame you. Torchline is busy place. I imagine it'd be entertaining to watch." It was also a region solidly aligned with Safrin, making it the perfect place for her children to learn and grow. The concept of growing up in stars is still hard to wrap his mind around, but the Wild Thunder hardly blinks at the statement. He's grown used to Caido having bizarre mechanisms or patterns.
His expression turned to one of curiosity as he raised a brow, "This is perhaps an odd question but do the constellations look upside down then, from down here?" If one were used to walking among or possibly on top of the stars, surely, they looked warped when looking up at them.
There’s something that crosses her face that’s almost girlish with how she responds to Sah’s comment about Torchline being entertaining to watch, and her grin is just as sunny and bright as it is excited to share the tidbit of information. “It really is!” She agrees, humming a chime of a laugh before she settles. “There’s always so much going on all the time.” It’s like the city that never stopped, it seemed. And Caly was more than happy to watch at all hours of all the crazy things that happened within the confines of the region.
But when he asks his question, she settles, her amber gaze focusing on his face easily as the smile returns to her face softer and gentler. “No. Not really. They look pretty far away.. Like I can’t reach out and touch ‘em anymore.” She tilts her head, letting her smile grow. “But not upside down.. Just different.”

Sah
Sah laughed softly at Caly's enthusiasm. "I bet. Everyone here always seems to be in a rush of some kind." The heartbeat of the region seemed to always be racing, either from anger, excitement, or adrenaline. But always racing. Even from here, he could hear the calls of ambitious merchants as they coaxed every passerby to come to their stalls. The chatter was a constant background, as was the ebbing and flowing sound of conversation.
The Wild Thunder glanced up at the sky as Caly described her childhood's view. Even if the stars were invisible at the moment, he felt their draw. "Different, huh?" Perhaps it was similar to when he'd come to Caido and had to relearn the stars. They'd been vastly different, entirely different constellations dotting the sky and further reminding him of his new location. A soft smile stretched across Sah's face; "Sounds about right."
The conversation naturally lulled and after a brief exchange of goodbyes and a promise to meet later in Halo, they parted ways.
