Danger gleams like sunshine
Ideas and strategies had been bouncing around in his head since returning from his 'conference' with the boys in King's End. He'd always known that his lack of long ranged attacks was a source of weakness, but using Tal's dagger had shown him just how important it was that he rectify it. If he wanted to strengthen his abilities against the Void and the Family, he needed to focus on what areas to fortify.

Sol follows at his heels as he enters the familiar shrine. His arms are full of a cloth that had drawn his eyes in the market. It has gold and silver mirrored pieces stitched like sequins across the entire piece, glittering from every angle. He doesn't know if it's meant to be a curtain, a wall piece, or something for an outfit, but the way it had nearly blinded him when it caught the sunlight immediately made him think of Safrin.

Setting the offering across the shrine, Zavien kneels in the same place he always does while Sol takes his usual place at his side. His hand moves to rest on the dragon's head as he smiles softly towards where he prays the goddess might appear. "Safrin, if you have a moment, I'd like your help with another item." He pauses before adding with a light laugh, "Obviously, close quarters hasn't been working. Can you possibly help me with attacking from farther away?"

Zavien is asking Safrin for an item to extend the range of his attacks! If he doesn't roll high enough, please use his Level 6 custom token! <3

safrin
Starlight ripples through the air like a sigh of silk before she appears—first in glimmers along the mirrored sequins of the offering, then in the slow swell of light that builds just behind Zavien. The shadows in the shrine pull back in reverence, and the scent of jasmine and something older, deeper, curls warmly through the space as Safrin steps into being.

Her gown shifts with every movement like water catching moonlight, and when her gaze settles on Zavien, it’s with a familiarity edged in fondness. "Darling," she murmurs, the syllables soft and radiant. She glances to the mirrored cloth, the glint catching in her lashes, and smiles with clear delight. "You always know how to flatter a girl."

As she steps closer, her hand lifts and brushes lightly along his arm—fingertips grazing warm skin, starlight trailing in their wake. It’s not a demand, not a test—just the quiet reaffirmation of their bond. Her presence carries a comfort beneath the awe, like dusk settling gently over a long day.

"Of course I can help you," Safrin says with a chuckle, her eyes gleaming like twin constellations.
Zavien has been given a quest!

1. Complete a training thread where he stands as still as possible while trying to hit a target
1. Complete a training thread while trying to remain 5ft away from his opponent
2. Complete a thread focused on hand-eye coordination
3. Complete a thread purchasing/haggling/making either a bracelet/ring/wraps/bracers/etc

He also rolled high enough on his own.

Danger gleams like sunshine
She arrives in her usual brilliance, light and beauty that pushes away more than just the physical shadows. He bows his head, letting her presence fill him with the clarity and peace of starlight on a cloudless night. It's become more familiar, just as the sound of her voice is something that's recognized by more than just his ears.

Despite Safrin's attentions on him, it's hard not to think of Lena when she comments on his offering, of the missteps he always seemed to make. He doesn't let the thought take hold should he insult the goddess before him, instead placing a gracious hand against his chest, smiling softly. "I'm honored that you like it."

He stills as her fingertips brush like a warm, gentle breeze over his skin. His breath pauses enough for him to notice, reverent in the way it doesn't dare move in her presence like she's captured it for herself and might one day bestow it upon him as a gift. And as her eyes fall to him and her laughter gilds her words, it's released back into his chest, full and rejuvenating.

Only once she's given her instructions does Zavien find the air speak again, his tone thick with appreciation and determination. "Thank you, Safrin. I will be back when it's done."
