Character of the Season
Frail in body but dangerously quick of mind, Nikandr is the sort of character who proves that curiosity can be just as perilous as any weapon. A necromancer, inventor, and problem-solver with more ambition than self-preservation, Niki approaches the world like a puzzle box begging to be opened, even when what’s inside has teeth. Blunt, dry-witted, fiercely independent, and carrying a history best left partially buried, he has a knack for making even failure feel fascinating. Whether he’s raising the dead, moving across Caido to King's End, or experiencing a hangover for the first time, Nikandr brings a wonderfully strange spark to Caido, and we can’t wait to see what trouble his brilliant mind wanders into next.
Congratulations, Niki!

It’d begun to feel like a rinse and repeat motion to the actions – and while that was a customary thing in his schedule (at least with routines; but there was progress in those), the lack of anything still left that imminent frustration beginning to build through his shoulders. Deimos might have been a person of patience and consideration, but with timelines burdening amongst his mind, it left him wondering if he’d be better suited to simply biding other methods and means.
Regardless, he and Erebos were back in the aperture of the Wildwood, his watchful gaze settled on the toddler as the youth bobbed back and forth on his still customary gangly gait and stride. It meant their progress was slow, but it gave Deimos more than enough time to watch the surroundings, or peel another leaf out of his son’s mouth. Or to snag some things that Evie might find suitable.
Sighing, he glanced back at Sunjata. “Do you think others are having any luck?”
high as hell, feeling fine nothing bad but nothing kind
Deciding to take a higher up approach, Sunjata’s wings have flared behind him as he lands beside Deimos and Erebos, heaving a soft sigh as he’s come up empty until this point. The feathery wings of his pegasus shift tuck in neatly behind him as he straightens his back and turns his attention back toward Deimos when he speaks. “Not that I’ve heard.” He admits amongst another sigh, shrugging a tattooed shoulder.
Glancing to his right to see if anything would appear again, the Flood’s nose wrinkles. “Though, I guess some people might have alternative motives if they found them.” Like healing loved ones, rather than letting them know. Which, he definitely gets, but he hates how elusive these flowers have become. “I was thinking about trying Frey’s Breath again.” And maybe indulge in the suffocating heat for just a few moments longer to see if a lily appears.

Sunjata speaks with an Australian accent and has a passive magic that makes him produce a subtle scent that matches exactly to whatever those around him most desire him to smell like.
Erebos gave a delightful screech as the Pegasus landed nearby, and then wrinkled his nose when it simply shifted back to Sunjata. Shaking his head, he urged the boy onward, to which he giggled again and started poking at a stick. Deimos hadn’t heard anything either, but he refrained from having a matching expression with the toddler.
Looking downward, following the youth’s movements and glancing for gold figments and fragments, he nodded, figuring there’d be some other motivations amidst Caido. “Understandable.” Some would be for planting amidst infected regions, for healing friends and family, or for their own destined portions with Starfall. “Never quite enough for what we need.” He supposed, given time and fortitude, they might have to angle themselves towards those like Vi or Rae, rather than continuing to wander through thickets and pine.
He knew there’d be one lurking in Frey’s Breath come next season, but there were still weeks in between then and now. “Might be worth it.”

Nodding, though he wonders what had happened to all of those that they’d had when the blight was around - how it was able to cure so many of them. They had taken it for granted then, hadn’t realized it could be of use now. But hindsight was always 20/20. “Yeah, unfortunately.” Which meant they just had to keep on trying, searching for the roses in question so that they might be able to take back more of Caido from the Family’s grips.
Glancing back toward Erebos as he pokes at a stick, Sunjata’s frustrations fade with the amusement of seeing such simple innocence that children often had. Unaware of the stress and traumas of their parents. And when he looks back up at Deimos, he’s glad to know the man’s a good father. “Smaller space, maybe I’ll be lucky.” He laughs softly, because they both know his luck was terrible.

That is not a normal tree and you well know it. Whether you’re just passing by or if you’re here to try and gather some of her sap, all I can tell you is that you’re going to absolutely have a bad time if you try and fuck with this tree.
You’ve encountered a Wicker Woman. This counts as a rare creature encounter for the purposes of levelling, but does not count as a Random Event for levelling or MP. There will be no further admin/re intervention. If you choose to follow this creature, you do so at your own risk, however, just having it in this thread is enough to satisfy your levelling requirements. You may not kill your rare creature without admin permission.
Wicker Woman (rare/mythical): Whilst the name suggests a person, this is actually a species of tree. The Wicker Woman has gnarled and twisted branches which will fold gently around anything that brushes past it. Whilst it causes no harm, it is incredibly difficult to escape its embrace, and travellers have starved to death in the past after becoming snared by it. The sap of the Wicker Woman is rumoured to be a potent hallucinogenic.
Deimos might have said more, but the appearance nearby, of a less than satisfactory essence, spurned him into a very quiet and potent motion. Quickly, he scooped Erebos up into his arms, and while the child giggled and laughed, unbothered in the innocence and ignorance of youth, the Sword sent a sudden unfurling of fire directly at the tree.
Brow furrowed and irritation imminent, he filtered a distant and vague sigh as timber popped and yielded to the segmented and targeted conflagration. “Frey’s Breath sounds better already,” and as the youth waved abruptly to the burning portions nearby, Deimos tilted his head and indicated towards the exit. If he didn’t have Erebos with him, it might’ve been a different story – he would’ve stayed to assist in annihilation, but, figuring they weren’t going to be finding any flowers on this juncture, it would be best to persist on another, hopefully luckier, sojourn.
