From Attuned to Ascended to Ancient, Kiada Njovu-Reyes has been reborn several times throughout her short life, but her fighting spirit has never once been diminished. With beauty, grace and a quick wit, Kiada is the whole package wrapped in an infectious smile. Recent endeavours have found her in the heart of the Hollowed Grounds, aiding the region and bettering it for her new Ancient kin, and whatever she does next, we know it's sure to pack a punch.
Congratulations, Kiada!

Court of the Fallen was created in October of 2018 by Odd, Honey, and Crooked.
Skinning and hosting by the epically talented Kaons, and functionality fanciness by the coding magic of Neowulf. If you ever see either of them around, make sure to show them some love!
She tries to stay to the side of the tunnel as much as possible, but it's difficult to be sure. At least the unicorns have come along, and now the qilin can move like sunlight, streaking through the storm, escort of beasts in tow. It shouldn't be far to the lightning rod or the the others, she thinks, eyes peeled and Attuned bond open for sign or sense of the rest of the group.
Silently she calls to Deimos, warning of their approach. She will pause when she reaches them, ensuring that nobody needs aid or a ride, investigating her companions with two legs or four. Shifting back briefly to human form, Amalia looks around. "Is everyone okay? I'm leading them back to the Grounds," she announces, no room in her tone for debate.
Ama rejoins the group and shifts to human form. She asks if everyone is ok and announces she's taking the unicorns back to the Grounds.

Deimos and Zuriel, luckily, slip through falling clumps of mud and stone. Wessex with her speed is more than quick enough, and Bastien just manages to make his escape as well (hoverboards need to hover, and the tunnel is not terribly tall. He'll find a good amount of dirt in his hair, for his trouble).
Where the group emerges is near enough to the lightning rod constructed by Deimos that other than the heat which it gives off, the group is, for the moment, not in danger of more lightning strikes.
Is this where your journey into the storm comes to an end? Or do you push forward minus one demigod?
Your randomly chosen order is: Deimos, Wessex, Bastien, Amalia. Please post within 48 hours of the person before you. They emerged – unscathed and liberated. Hellhound form shook the renderings of dirt and debris, then he shifted back to human form, glancing over the other figures in his group, and watching as Amalia readied the troupe of unicorns. Now Zuriel nickered to them, and with his gaze back on the horizon, he saw no reason to push on. “You are welcome to stay.” To explore, to continue in the heat, in the scorching lacquer, in the electrified outlets. “But I am done.” There wasn’t much else he could do, other than rest, mull the situation over, and return later.
“I think that –“, and he pointed to the storm still burgeoning beyond them, “needs to be saved for another day.” When they were better equipped, enchanted, or understood what they were up against. He could battle a multitude of elements for a lengthy amount of time, but the feeling that their modest fortune had run out lingered, seethed against his bones. He’d stretched his luck many, many times, and had suffered consequences for it. There was no need for it now, not when they could restore, discover more tactics, for a future threshold.
So he and Zuriel turned, following fellow equines and Shields, frustrated by a lack of answers or discoveries, but not for their survival.

WESSEX
the wraith
she tied you to her kitchen chair she broke your throne and she cut your hair
Even when they all make it safely out of the tunnel and the lightning is called to the makeshift round, Wessex still yearns for more adventure, for more knowledge. They’d done something, yes, something that was potentially important… but there’s another part of her that says fuck this, and to be reckless, to throw herself against the sands and winds and see if she can outrun the lightning.
Even when Amalia and Deimos say they’re done, she lingers, looking into the whirlwind chasm. What could she do? There’s no marker to teleport in. Nothing - and no one - to get her out. She sighs, and bends to the whims of the world, turning to the others first “Whoever goes back in - I want to come with.” The Wraith stakes her claim with a good, old-fashioned ‘shotgun!,’ if there ever was one.
Trying to for the moment get over the tragedy of his dirty hair (Rex's death had nothing on this), Bastien watched Amalia leave with the unicorns; at least there would be some benefit from their trip into the storms, because it seemed like the exploration element would not be succeeding very far. He laughed as Deimos suggested that they might stay and shook his head, the sight of the storm beyond making him very much agree they needed to get out.
"It seems I have found myself considerably out of my depth." He announced humbly, sure that this was not a surprise to any of the members of their party (of which he had been the most useless). "I'll not burden you with myself on your next expedition." It would be irresponsible, for himself and for the others.
With that said he following Deimos and Wessex out, using his board to rush the process.

You always let me down so tenderly So live fast and die young and stay forever numb
It doesn't much matter to Amalia what they decide: her mind is already made up, bound by a promise she's made to creatures lost within a storm. Still, it is a relief when the other three agree to leave as well. She cannot protect everyone if they divide, and though she knows that Wessex and Deimos are strong, the Shield will never stop in her need to defend those who she loves.
"We'll come back," Amalia agrees, dark eyes flickering to the Wraith before settling on the Sword. "I promised I would help them find a way home." How the girl does not know, but that is a later concern. For now her focus is on a swift retreat.
Shifting back to Qilin form, Amalia nods to the unicorns and mentally calls them to follow the path she takes. With one last look at her companions the girl exhales a breath of spring air, healing the lingering woulds from the heat before turning back towards the Grounds.

You've survived. Let us measure your success in terms of lives not lost, and in fact, lives have been gained. The unicorns follow, though once they reach the relative-modernity of the grounds, they flee into the surrounding woods. Their panic and distress is palpable. Best give them a few days to settle into their new surroundings.
You've learned that there does in fact seem to be something beyond the electrical storms: where else would the unicorns have come from? Though you're no closer to figuring out how to reach it. A massive line of lightning rods? A tunnel-system beneath? A hoard of lightning users? Some other ingenious scheme?
