From Attuned to Ascended to Ancient, Kiada Njovu-Reyes has been reborn several times throughout her short life, but her fighting spirit has never once been diminished. With beauty, grace and a quick wit, Kiada is the whole package wrapped in an infectious smile. Recent endeavours have found her in the heart of the Hollowed Grounds, aiding the region and bettering it for her new Ancient kin, and whatever she does next, we know it's sure to pack a punch.
Congratulations, Kiada!

Court of the Fallen was created in October of 2018 by Odd, Honey, and Crooked.
Skinning and hosting by the epically talented Kaons, and functionality fanciness by the coding magic of Neowulf. If you ever see either of them around, make sure to show them some love!

He moves up through the branches, alternating between trying to swoop up and climb up them, managing somehow to wrap himself in the branches in a space that he can’t get out of without help. And it’s a strange sensation, the attempt to tug and pull at them, keeping him down when his dark gaze can spy Melita as she pauses on the branch he’s stuck on, a little squeak leaving him as she reaches out to help him.
He manages to squirm his way out, just enough, to latch onto her hand as he shifts back into himself mostly, but with the legs of a panther and hands that follow as soon as Melita lets his hand go. “Dankie, heuningby.” He rumbles to her, before working to climb up again with her, feeling none of the war that rampages within Melita’s mind.
Sunjata accepts Melita's help!

Feel free to use magic/force on Sunjata, without killing him <3
Sunjata speaks with an Australian accent and has a passive magic that makes him produce a subtle scent that matches exactly to whatever those around him most desire him to smell like.
letting people down is my thing, baby, find yourself a new gig
Well well well. How the tables have turned. Nate knows they’ll turn again, that karma is a bitch and so is Jack, but... it’s so satisfying to kick down, not looking or caring caring if he hits fingers or the branch, as long as it destabilizes the captain, slows him, or stops him completely.
Nate hardly even notices Rigby, glancing over at the boy just long enough to give him a knowing wink before shooting up the tree again, still trying to decide if he’s aiming for the crown of the tree, or just trying to catch up Sunjata. Both, more than likely.
Nate kicks out at Jack to try and push him from the tree!

humanity is unbecoming of those who are becoming
So single minded is his focus on climbing that Peter doesn’t notice there is anyone above him until a hand is thrust into his face. Wide blue eyes glance up, try to take stock of the man before reaching up the accept the offer. As much as he can, Peter just uses the tether for support, instead of relying entirely on Henry’s hand.
A moments pause is a small price to pay for the help, but even still it take a beat before Peter speaks, as if he’s still surprised about this particular turn of events. ”Peter.” He offers by way of introduction. ”I... thank you, H-Henry.”

RIGBY
Rigby climbed, slipping through the branches with a practiced touch. He may be lacking in strength, but he knew how to crawl and climb and fit places he ought not. As he pulled himself up through a particularly gnarly tangle of branches, his eyes met those of a familiar face. Why was this loser everywhere? The wink shot his way earned a scowl, before he looked down and noticed where Nate had kicked.
He knew this guy too, but that didn't mean he cared for him. Sucks to suck, Rigby kicked out as well, for once in agreement with Nate, then continued to squirrel his way through the branches towards that unknown prize.
It's going pretty well, all in all. Ronin has just hefted himself onto another branch when he glances to the side and, lo and behold, there's Zephyr and someone he's never had the pleasure of meeting. Something seizes him instantly, to shove them both from the boughs so he can go and fetch the shiny thing all for himself, but he masters the urge.
Madam Tongue-Stick-Out is already helping Zeph, and he supposes that's alright. It means he isn't obligated to do any such thing, after all. And so, sticking his tongue out right back at Aurelia, Ronin scarpers on up the tree. Every man for himself in situations like this, after all, right? Right. That's how he feels about it anyway.
Ronin decides to quell the urge to shove both Zeph and Aurelia from the tree, and instead ignores them both so he can climb faster.
soft spoken with a broken jaw we step outside, but not to brawl
Jack has been hauling ass through some tangled branches, with Seven screaming her discomfort about the whole thing on his shoulder, when lo and behold there's a foot lancing at him. Luckily enough, the captain has a neat little bit of magic to realise who it belongs to - and an even neater curse which means pain doesn't get taken into account.
So it is that as the foot - oh, feet, thanks Rigby - shower down upon him, Jack is typically Jack and typically restless. He reaches up to grasp at the first ankle trying to step on him to get higher up and, should he succeed? Well.
You're coming down with him.
Jack tries to grab Nate's leg to pull him out of the tree with him.
Jack being an Abandoned is common knowledge these days, however his Telepathy remains a well-kept secret:
Magic: Passive Telepathy | The user can read the surface thoughts and emotions of those within a 30ft radius. Control is excellent. Note: "Thoughts and emotions" include anything written in a character's narration in a post.
Type: Grey | Rank: Mastered
Also branded with a small star tattoo beneath his left eye.
She must be doing something right, to find herself in this kind of position. Across from her is a stranger, and beneath her is that dude from the beach, who she has particular feelings for or against. He just is. Raza pauses in her climbing to consider her position - his position - weigh the odds of who might help whom.
It’s only in the interest of self-preservation that she reaches down to help Peter. Not because she’s nice. Not because she wants to, but because he might help her next, and the guy across from her seems to be ‘kind.’ Kind people like other kind people.
Might as well blend in.

Raza helps Peter
Like the end of a Hitchcock movie, a little dark and a lot confusing
So many true colours being shown. It goes like this:
Melita and Sunjata, along with Raza, Henry and Peter all continue their journey upwards unimpeded. The same can be said for Aamu, Cameron and Wessex - though that's no thanks to you, Aamu!
Ronin scurries up too, with Aurelia following close behind. Although she has attempted to help Zephyr, it's almost like he doesn't want to climb, and out he tumbles from the tree. Oops!
Now it's down to the fun bits, all you boring helpful team players. It's a heated battle between Mabel and Theo - the two struggle endlessly, it seems, before finally Theo manages to pull them both out of the tree! Down they both go, out of this battle.
It's a similar story between Nate and Jack. The captain somehow manages to fight off both of his assailants, but in his thirst for revenge, both he and Nate plunge through the branches.
And the light above twinkles ever brighter. There's a rustling, though, as the competitors keep climbing, and from high up in the tree, things start to drop. Are they pinecones? Baubles? Lovely presents? Big, spiky surprises?
Stay put and find out, or dodge out of the way, those who are left!
She could hear others failing, the branches and boughs swaying under the motions, the proceedings, the little squalls breaking loose. More than once bodies crashed along the underbrush, and she bit back something in her mind, gaze on her uncle for a moment, and then nodding.
Thereafter, Melita was all the more tempted by the light again. More rustling, more movement, caused her to tilt her head further upwards, striving, trying, to see what the cause was this time. She expected some other forms to be cascading, descending, and once she’d gauged the motions of something dropping, the youth pressed herself tighter against the trunk of the tree, attempting to dodge.

Unused to adventure as Cameron was, their first instinct when something came crashing down at them wasn't to dodge, as it probably should have been -- it was to catch it, even if that meant releasing their handhold, leaving them in a precarious position. They quickly tried to regain their balance, grabbing at the branches.
Cam could only hope that they'd recover in time to keep climbing -- and that the object they'd tried to grab was worth the risk. It would be really unfortunate if the dropped items were, you know, bombs or spikes or something unpleasant. But maybe that was just Cam's luck?
Cam tries to catch one of the falling objects.

Arialla ducked as objects began to fall from the canopy. It did occur to her, briefly, to try to grab one, if only to see what it was -- but her partial shift made the decision for her: eagle's talons might be suited to grabbing branches, but if she tried to pick up an object, she'd skewer it. Better to keep her head down and just keep climbing -- dodging the projectiles as necessary. She'd come this far by keeping her eyes on the goal, staying free of distractions; she didn't intend to let herself get sidetracked now. Whatever was at the top of this tree was clearly more important than the things falling out of it.
Arialla dodges the falling objects on her way to the top.
It seems to be going well, Ronin quickly clambering his way up through the boughs and branches, prepared to race any and all of his remaining rivals to the top. At least, that's the plan until the tree seemingly starts to fight back, objects plunging around them.
Furrowing his brow, Ronin leans back a bit to try and get a better look at what's happening - and of course that does little more than put him right in the line of sight for the next object that comes plummeting towards his face. How wonderful.
And so, in true Ronin fashion, the Star turns his body to brace against whatever-it-is, prepared to take the heat if that means he can keep going towards the light.
Ronin braces himself against the objects, deciding not to dodge out of the way.

Up and up they continue to go, without trouble surprisingly. Sunjata’s panther claws appear to work well for driving upwards through the bark, until the top is bright enough to distract him. But then, things begin to drop, and he notices as others begin to dodge out of the way. And Sunjata? He’s not quite agile enough to figure he can move out of the way quickly.
Which leaves only the logical thing to do after that. To stay and wait for these things to fall down and potentially harm him and knock him out of the tree, or to be something else entirely. He’s not sure which, but he thinks he’s prepared enough to find out.
Jata stays put to find out!

WESSEX
Go deep throat a cactus
What to do, what to do? Patience is a virtue, but what if patience costs her the prize? With a nod to Cameron for their assistance, Wessex continues on her way. Soon, something goes past her and it pulls her attention up to the light again, causing her to frown a bit as she tries to figure out what the things are. Staying put and getting hit doesn’t seem like a smart thing to do - like, ever. Wessex prefers to rely on her strength (ha, like that helped her before) and her dexterity to dodge whatever is falling from the higher boughs.
