Since his last pilgrimage to the shrine and discussion with Safrin, they’d already achieved one flight towards Starfall. An accomplishment aligned with perhaps the most luck any of them had ever experienced, but a triumph and bewildering undertaking nonetheless – with the potential of another to soon follow, depending on what the others’ decided. Perhaps, finally, after so many days and seasons, a shift, a turn in the tides. Especially after latest intrigues and battles in the Oerwoud. 

Deimos hadn’t been without his own slight exploits – and with each twist and attempt at acquiring gloves back and forth, he aimed to gain further implementation on tethers and lines. Arriving at the Citadel’s altar, he placed a few ornamental star and galaxy pieces – as if they could be easily hung and gathered amidst the moon – before bowing his head again. “Safrin, I have done as directed.” Gloves lost, taken, and snagged back into his hands on magic and calculations, wings or boldness.

Turning in Deimos’ quest acquired paled in comparison to upgrade:
Type: Grey | Style: Other | Level: Basic
Starlit Tether | An invisible strand of starlight that connects to the Gambler's Gloves. When activated it glows golden and returns the gloves to Deimos' hands within 10ft.

Deimos must

1. Complete 2 training threads using his gloves, where they're taken from him and he has to recall them:
- [Training] top of the chimney
- [SE][Training] carved chances

2. In 2 threads, he must, from a distance of 20ft, somehow recall items back to himself.

- freeze the day Recalled using air magic

The ornaments begin to glow and glisten, rising up from the altar and hanging in the air as if having been placed there by the goddess' hand just as the rest of the stars in the sky had been. "You've done that and more since I last saw you." Safrin notes, her words laced with amusement and pride as she appears at the Sword's side.

Reaching out she gives his arm an affectionate squeeze before turning her attention to the gloves and the starlit tether magically binding them. The light cast from Deimos' ornaments begins to swell as they descend, their light bleeding onto the magical binding and increasing its power.

Another long breath of relief chiseled its way through his chest as the ornaments glowed, rising along the altar, hanging about and above, with Safrin appearing at his side. He gave her a light smile and a vague snort at the affectionate squeeze, head tilting to watch as she altered the gloves. “I do not like being idle,” he assured with a wrinkle to his nose; partially because he didn’t do well in listless motions – not while there were so many things to conduct and scheme and override.

“Thank you,” he extended thereafter, head bowed briefly to her power, might, and willingness to let him try, watching as the light twisted and toiled their way into the tethers; another rendering completed. Presuming she was more than aware of their attempts along Starfall, he hastened towards advice again; having not yet heard from either of his fellow constituents. Opting for Attuned measures, rather than anything where they could be overheard, he placed his inquiry within, placing her wisdom in high esteem as always. We have another flower in our possession – would you recommend going to Starfall once more, or placing it elsewhere?

Chuckling warmly, Safrin nods. "No, you never have, have you?" Amusement and affection hug her words, and it occurs to the goddess not for the first time how much she covets the Sword. How much she'd give to bind him to her as she had done with those before.

Alas..

I am interested to see how quickly the Family claws back the areas newly reclaimed. She hums, her mental voice like a slip of velvet being tugged through oil-slick fingers. If the reclaimed areas are left alone? Then perhaps it would be better to weaken them that way. But if they are immediately taken back? Her nose wrinkles. For as much as the goddess often played cat and mouse, she would not send her chosen to participate in such a farce.
