Zavien

Having finally returned from his trip to the Hollowed Grounds, Zavien was tempted to run straight to the shrine, but he took his time, looking for just the right offering. As he made his way through the Plaza, he found a batch of lemon blueberry muffins. They seemed to perfectly fit the bittersweet feeling of Longheat's end. Sol seemed to agree as he inhaled one of the extra pastries, grumbling in delight. Zavien purchased a large basket of them along with a bundle of bright yellow sunflowers before he set off for the Celestine. 

It didn't take long to dip into the opening framed by leafy green foliage. He made his way across to the water's edge, finding the place for the nature herald. Sol bounced from his shoulders, finding the tree he'd hidden in just a few months prior. He cocked his head at the tree branches curiously as Zavien began the familiar process of arranging his offerings. Once finished, he sat before Frey's shrine, smiling brightly. Very carefully, he pulled the last piece from his bag. The gold scales glittered in the sunlight as he set the bracelet amongst the others. Its sculpted dragon head attracted his companion's attention enough to draw him close again. The Dragoon chuckled lightly before placing a hand on Sol's head and bowing his head. "Hi Frey! Thank you again for the quest. I did everything you asked of me. Do you have a moment to inspect my work?"

Zavien's turning in his quest for a collapsible bracelet shield!


1. Decide what material he'd like his shield to be made from. Complete a thread collecting the material (wood, metal, stone etc.) from an appropriate source.

Frey

Frey does not hide in the trees this time; instead they appear, as sunshiney and radiant as the muffins and the sunflowers that Zavien has brought, offering a serene smile to the Accepted and his dragon. "I would be delighted," they say, though they do take a moment to take a bite of a muffin and to tuck one of the sunflowers into their hair. Reaching forward to scritch Sol under the chin, finally they reach for the dragon bracelet, humming their approval as they lift it to the light.

"A beautiful and sentimental piece," they say after swallowing. "I believe this will be the basis for a fine shield." A flash of light punctuates Frey's final word, as if they have willed the bracelet into being something more by nothing more than speaking it into existence. And the bracelet positively shimmers as they offer it back to Zavien. "Lovely work."

He found that the herald's sudden appearances were becoming more anticipated, but still awed him nonetheless. A bright smile flashed across his face as they appeared, enjoying his offerings immediately. Sol also liked seeing Frey, although it probably had more to do with the satisfying scratch under his chin that had his wings fluttering. Zavien just chuckled softly, sharing in the sensation through their bond. 

More wing fluttering and puffing of tiny golden chests occurred as Sol's scaled contribution was inspected, causing Zavien to hide an amused smile. "Thank you, Frey. That means a lot." He dipped his head respectfully, trying not to burst at the compliment. Reaching out, he accepted the bracelet, noticing the extra layer of shine that it seemed to emanate. It clasped perfectly around his wrist, and he took a moment to admire it before giving Frey another smile. "Thank you, again. I will be sure to use it well." And with that, he and Sol gave the nature herald an appreciative wave before departing.
