Usually someone else helps supply the Sugar Tide with liquor, a nameless face that picks up the crate from the Hanged Man, stocked with Flora’s faves, but this time? This time Caly trails alongside. Wearing a loose neck golden shirt and a pair of pale leggings, drifting along the most empty dock until they reach the boat in question.
It’s a silent transaction, usually, but Caly bids the helper away with a blown kiss, hoisting the box the best she can to help slide it up onto the deck of the ship. It’s a wobbly, weak affair, but the young attuned is stubborn. She’ll continue to try and hoist it up until it’s fully set there, leaving her dramatically panting and slumped against the side.

There’s a dull thunk against the hull, followed by the scraping sound of stubborn effort and an exaggerated exhale. From inside the Sugar Tide, Flora’s brow lifts. She sets down the gold-edged book she’s been reading—upside down, if she’s honest, mostly admiring the illustrations—and pads barefoot toward the sound.
By the time Caly heaves the crate up with a final, theatrical wheeze, invisible fingers are already helping guide it the rest of the way. A whisper curls around the docked air, breezy and conspiratorial. "Caly??" Followed by laughter. "Come up!"
The top hatch creaks open with a familiar groan, and a moment later the door down into the houseboat’s lush, shadow-cooled interior swings wide of its own accord. Flora twists her invisibility ring, the illusion peeling off like gauze from wet skin as Flora steps into view, one hip braced against the threshold, her curls pulled up in a knot and the rest of her wrapped in a red sundress that might have been a flag if it weren’t so soft.
She beams. "There are people for that kind of labour, you know." One brow lifts with amused exasperation, though she doesn’t stop grinning. Turning, she lets her fingers curl around the banister, already starting to lead them down into the belly of the Sugar Tide. "Come on. Want a drink? Something cold? Possibly fizzy and definitely spiked?"

For a moment the attuned thinks she’s losing her mind. The crate seems little lighter as she slides it up, but she’s still exhausted as she pants to try and catch her breath. The quiet whisper has her on alert nearly immediately, perking up to look around for a moment before recalling that Flora would be hidden, though what that entirely meant the sunshine child doesn’t know.
She can guess, though, especially as the latch opens and the door swings open, Flora materializing before her eyes as she hauls herself up. “Hi!” She chimes with a soft laugh, letting her surprise flicker over her before vanishing in waves. “No, yeah, I know. I just wanted to chat with ya for a minute if ya had time.” Flashing that sunny smile, she trails after Flora into the Sugar Tide’s belly, feeling the cool warmth seep over her from Torchline’s otherwise incessant heat.
“Cold, fizzy, ’n spiked. My favorites.” She nearly squeaks her acceptance before it breaks into a laugh, picking up her steps a bit more to get in step with the Queen. “How’ve you been? You saw the pool party, right? Shit was crazy.”

Whether I'm gonna curse you out or Take you back to my house
Flora flashes a bright smile the moment she lets herself be seen, curls catching the sunlight that spills down through the open hatch like gold poured from a pitcher. "I always have time for you," she says, voice warm as the drink she starts mixing. Her bracelets jingle softly as she leans over her private stash, pulling out a bottle of something pale and citrusy, pouring with an elegant swirl into two sleek glasses before topping them with something fizzy and just a little dangerous.
Over her shoulder, she throws Caly a mischievous look. "Wasn’t it?" There’s no need to clarify what it refers to. The whole of the pool party had been a kaleidoscope of chaos and glittering tension—and Flora had stood at the centre of it all, albeit invisibly, but she had started it with her chicken-fight callout. "You alright, though? You and your siblings?" she asks, tone light but eyes flicking toward Caly’s face with quiet intent. "I managed to get what I needed from Pierce. Enough blood to protect Torchline’s coast."
She holds up both drinks, turning them gently in her hands so the sunlight hits them just so. "Spiiiiiice," she calls with a lift of her brows, and the small white dragon obliges with a quick puff of cold air. Instantly, frost feathers across the glasses, blooming like morning ice on sailcloth. Flora hands one to Caly and lifts hers in salute. "To girls who don’t flinch at a bit of hard work, mm?" Glass clinks against glass with a soft, crystalline note, and she takes a sip, watching Caly over the rim.

“You’re real sweet.” Caly hums, her smile brightening as she watches Flora craft the drink with all the flourish of brilliance that makes sense for someone who had run the bar she’d just recently come to own. It’s with equal parts admiration and mindfulness that Caly watches the movements, making mental notes of each flick of her wrist, each portion of the drink added in to make a beautiful combination.
Nodding as she spots Flora’s mischievous look, Caly’s smile is lopsided as she seems to read through it - because she does recall seeing Flora briefly and then not, and it had been her call out to start the whole ordeal. But other than that? She’s unfamiliar with the Queen’s weaponry and the like, and so she’s let to dream up a vibrant portrait of possibilities of what Flora had gotten up to during the pool party.
Glad that she’d made it out okay, overall, and with the item needed to help protect Torchline further. Admiration blooms in her chest to hear the risk she’d taken, she nods her head - her own blonde curls bouncing around her shoulders, picking up the light in streams of golden sun rays. “Yeah. We all got out pretty quick.” She murmurs, watching as the pale dragon appears and puffs a cool breath onto the drinks until they’re icy and Caly’s grin brightens.
Snagging her drink and raising it in a toast alongside Flora’s, she takes a sip and hums her delight at the bubbly, refreshing taste. “Dunno if anyone’s said it lately, but thanks for takin’ all those risks.” She knows it couldn’t be easy, especially not with the memory of their last conversation, about how she couldn’t even live in her own home because of the choices made. “Annnnd speakin’ of my siblings.. We were wonderin’ if we could be any help with the Lost ’n Found?”

Whether I'm gonna curse you out or Take you back to my house
Flora hums softly, the sound lilting like wind through beaded curtains as she nods, catching the slipstream of Caly’s gratitude and letting it settle somewhere behind her ribs. With a flick of her fingers, she gestures toward the cushioned bench tucked into the shaded nook of the Sugar Tide’s small seating area. "Come on," she murmurs, padding barefoot to the other end and curling onto the sun-warmed cushions in a sprawl that’s more regal than lazy, ankle looping over her knee as she sinks into the plush linen.
Another sip of her drink draws a pleased sigh, the cool fizz crackling against her tongue. "Glad you three got out alright," she says at last, voice low and mellow. "Things got...crazy, after."
At the attuned's thanks, Flora turns, the corner of her mouth twitching into a crooked grin. "It's honestly really nice to hear," she says, a rare, earnest note threading through her tone before it dissolves into something brighter, lighter, entirely more amused.
Her brows lift with theatrical flair, and she lets out a soft laugh under her breath, the sound half delight, half chagrin. "The Lost and Found," she repeats, rolling the name around her tongue like it might bite back. "I meant to take care of that before leaving the bar full-time, but..." Well, there had been a lot to do.
There’s a flicker in her expression—too quick to catch unless you’re looking—but then she’s smiling again, this time with unmistakable mischief. "You and your siblings wanna join the cause, or would you rather keep pretending that door just leads to a closet or something?" Her drink swirls idly in her hand, sun flashing through frost and citrus as she tilts her head toward Caly with open invitation.

Trailing after the Queen again, Caly settles against the plush cushions, the scent of salt and floral notes lingering on them, brought out by the warmth of the sun that had cascaded over them not that long before. Sitting with one leg tucked up underneath her other, drink cradled in her hands, her amber attention flits to Flora with a nod and a slight wince. “Yeah. We weren’t gonna stick around for that. Mom told us to be careful.” Likely given what happened to Seren, and who was Calypso to question her mother? She’s content lingering on the outskirts rather than dive in, knowing full well she isn’t strong enough to try and take a stand.
But that’s why she admires Flora as she does – because she was beautiful, strong, smart, and powerful. Everything a girl could want to be. So the gratitude is easy to extend, no mask she typically hid behind. Just pure honesty, because gods knew she wasn’t going to fuckin do it.
She takes a sip from her drink as Flora rolls the name around, her lips quirking in a small smirk once she’s swallowed, spotting the flicker in the expression and the mischief that blooms and it has her immediately latching in, finding something else that she wants to stick her jaguar claws into. “We wanna join.” She says, mischief glinting in her own amber gaze, made honey gold in the light she leans into as a strip of golden sunlight casts across her face. “Us Marins are pretty good at findin’ stuff.” She raises a brow, focused wholly on what Flora might say in return.

Flora grins at that—broad and shark-bright, all teeth and sunshine—because of course Calypso wants in. Of course the daughter of a smuggler and a star would be the one to lean forward like that, amber eyes lit with the kind of mischief that didn’t just flirt with danger, but kissed it on the mouth and stole its wallet.
"I love it," she drawls, lifting her glass toward the younger girl in a lazy, approving cheers. Even if Jack and Safrin weren’t likely to go rooting through back alleys or rifling through pockets themselves, Flora figured they both had the good sense to keep secrets buried where no one would think to dig. That’s really all the guild needed: discretion, loyalty, and a willingness to pick locks or pockets every now and again.
[sy]"The rules are simple," she says, her tone smoothing out into something a little silkier, a little more serious beneath the warmth. [say}"Keep your mouths shut. Don’t let anyone through the back room unless they’re in the guild. And when you’re out and about? It’s always the Lost & Found. Never anything else." Her expression holds steady for a moment longer, letting the weight of it settle between them before she sips again and eases back into the cushions.
Then, as if remembering an afterthought—though the wrinkle at the corner of her eye suggests otherwise—she adds, "Oh. And if you see an Ancient skulking around the place named Thalassa? Tell her to fuck right out." Her nose scrunches faintly, though the smile doesn’t falter. "She’s technically a member, but she’s also infected right now, so...as someone who has also been infected, I can tell you that her mind absolutely isn't right."

Smirking slightly to see the cheers, the young attuned lifts her glass as well in another silent toast, taking a sip of the lovely cocktail before she settles back in a bit more comfortably. She can imagine it already, not too different from what she’s already done a time or two (slipped into a crowd here and there, came away with more in her pockets than she’d left with). All in a good day’s work.
She pays very good attention when Flora speaks of the rules, making little golden mental markers to remember each and every one of them. “Easy enough.” All in all, it sounds like don’t be fucking stupid, and that’s something Calypso is very good at not being. At least, she thinks she is. So far she’s been right.
Mention of Thalassa sparks interest, though, nodding as she tilts her head and absorbs that tidbit of information. “Yeah I can do that. I know ‘er.” She murmurs with a nod before a thought occurs and she tilts her head, wondering if since the Family was barred from coming to Haulani if that extended to Friends of the Family.
Either way, she’s sure to let Vesper know - though something tells her that her brother likely already knows anyway.

Flora waggles her fingers with a wink, a little theatrical gesture like she’s casting some hush-hush spell over the conversation. Then, with a stretch and a sigh, she reclines back onto the sun-warmed cushions, letting the Sugar Tide rock gently beneath them. As Caly commits everything to memory, Flora outlines the last few key details she’ll need to know—like how to access the backroom of the Hanged Man. Inside, the secret storeroom houses more than rare spirits—it’s where the most lucrative or sensitive exchanges happen, and about the manta crystals hidden in the back to make a quick getaway through the canals if needed. Then she lists the members, that Caly and her siblings might not bar the wrong people from doing what they needed to do.
Turning her head slightly, Flora props herself on one elbow and lets her gaze linger on Caly’s thoughtful profile. "Everything at the Hanged Man still good?" she asks, softer now, more curious than commanding. "You three still happy to keep running it?" Gods knew it was a lot of work and could be a real pain in the ass, but it had been exactly what Flora had needed a few years ago to ground herself and aquiant herself with the real heart of Torchline, and she sensed the Marin's could likely use the same.

She’s a sponge - a gilded, attentive sponge that soaks up everything Flora tells her - memorizing it because at the very least she could share her thoughts with her brother and he’d get the gist of it even if she couldn’t explain it absolutely perfectly. Names are committed to memory, of members that wouldn’t need to be barred - aside from Thalassa, of course - and she sinks down into the seat with ease and another sip from her drink, relishing in the refreshment off it, the way the sunlight filters in and casts a golden haze around the fizziness of it as if imbued with liquid gold.
“We’re lovin’ it.” She answers immediately, zero hesitation in confirming that the Marin triplets were very pleased with having the bar as a source of focus. And between the three of them they handled it pretty well, she thinks. “We’ve done a bit’ve redecoratin’, so I hope y’don’t mind.” She murmurs, flashing an almost apologetic smile toward her. “We kept the important bits you added, obviously, but gave ‘er a bit of a facelift with some new lighting and fabric.” And that brilliant stained glass window she can’t wait to get installed. “We’ve stayed busy at least! But.. the people do miss you, too.” She tacks on, letting her amber gaze focus on the Queen of Torchline with an almost sobering, somber effect - as if she can understand how hard it might be to hear such a thing when you couldn’t physically return.

Whether I'm gonna curse you out or Take you back to my house
Flora sighs, long and relieved, her head tipping back against the wood with a soft thud as the sunlight dances lazily across her bare knees. “Gods, that’s good to hear,” she murmurs, the words slipping out like steam from a kettle finally taken off the heat. “I’ve heard nothing but good things since you lot took over. Honestly, probably better reviews than I ever got.” A grin tugs at her lips as she lifts her drink again, the ice clinking softly against the glass.
At the mention of redecorating, she waves a hand airily, lounging deeper into her seat with a sparkle in her eyes. “Make it yours. The bar was never supposed to be some sad little shrine to me. Just don’t let my brother’s plants die, or he will actually combust. In fact—” She smirks, glancing over her shoulder as if she might summon him by thought alone. “—maybe I’ll send Mateo around to fuss over them himself, because honestly, he won’t believe you’re doing it right anyway.”
She pauses just long enough to take another sip, then adds, in a teasing undertone, “Some of those plants are also lowkey poisonous. Or, y’know… recreational. So don’t toss them just ‘cause they look boring.”
But when Caly brings up the people missing her, something quieter slips through Flora’s expression. She doesn’t speak right away, eyes lingering in the swirl of her drink like she’s trying to read the future in the way the gold catches the sun. “That’s nice to hear,” she says eventually, and though the smile on her lips is soft, there’s a shadow stitched into the corners. “Soon enough we’ll kick the Family’s ass,” she adds, voice brighter now, more for Caly than for herself, “and everything’ll go back to normal.”
She raises her glass in a mock-toast, the rim catching the light like a promise she’s determined to keep. Even if she doesn’t quite believe it yet.

“Oh, that I doubt.” Caly charms easily, her snicker soft but gentle as they compliment one another. At the end of the day, though, Flora had been right. The Hanged Man had an energy, and if you couldn’t match it, you might as well walk out then and there. And for her and her siblings? She’s pretty confident that they’ve managed it. For now, at least.
Approval to make it theirs, though, was one that she wasn’t really clinging to but she definitely appreciates it all the same. They’d made their changes, they’d keep Flora’s portions in there because one, they were useful, and two? She was as much a portion of the Hanged Man as the Marins were becoming, and everyone that had owned it up and to this point.
For the plants, though, Caly snorts and nods, pausing to sip from the cocktail again as she mulls it over. “I think I’ll let my brother handle that one. He knows Mateo better than I do.” Intimately so, as far as the young attuned could tell. Which meant that the handsome sibling to the Doubletake was absolutely off limits for her.
But the mood grows somber with the young attuned’s admission, softer like the haze of a shadow over a knife with the follow up - something that she can absolutely get behind. “And when it does, I hope you’ll come ’n see us.” She hums, flashing a bright smile, finding some kinship with the Queen of Torchline and the club of Girls That Get Shit Done. The toast is easy to make, and she downs the rest of her cocktail before setting it to the side to be collected later.
“Thanks for the drink. Let us know if y’need anything else, too. I should head back before Nova sets off a glitter bomb behind the bar.” She rises in a graceful, sweeping motion, her smile vibrant as she nods her head, relaxing back into her easy posture as she takes her leave, fulfilled and content with the result of the evening and the conversation, ensuring its all still fresh for Vesper to pick up on.
