What do you get when two ruthless assassins raise their daughter travelling through the wildest reaches of Caido? Take one look at Theea and you'll get a pretty good idea. Cheerful and tenacious in equal measure, and curious beyond all else, she began her journey on a mission to find those her mother once called family. And find them she did, soon rubbing elbows with demigods, leaders and even ghosts from the past. Her determination is resolute, her thirst for knowledge unmatched. We can't wait to see where her next adventure takes her!

Remi is already halfway up the tree by the time Ronin finishes his outraged betrayal monologue, claws scrabbling expertly against the bark with all the grace of a greased squirrel on a mission. His raccoon tail flicks behind him in triumph as he scales the trunk and reaches the branch Sugar had so helpfully suggested, pausing there only to throw an exaggerated glance over one tiny shoulder.
You'll have to catch me first, Sir It! he declares, mental voice smug and musical as he bunches himself up—and launches.
The next tree receives him with the rustle of disturbed leaves and a creak of branches, and from there he scurries higher into the canopy, letting the filtered light dapple his back like a crown. Mischief floods the bond like a summer tide breaking over the reef, fizzing with challenge and boyish delight. But beneath it—threaded through like gold through silk—is love, deep and true and weightless.
Come and get me, he taunts affectionately, if you can.

"Oh I can," Ronin informs his husband, all grit and mischief as he hauls himself higher into the boughs. From his side, the Attuned bond fizzes with continued affectionate outrage (he ought to have known Remi would cheat, in retrospect) and determination not to be Sir It for longer than absolutely necessary. Of couse, it would be a lot easier if he didn't exclusively possess shifts that were massive, on fire, or actively bad at climbing.
As such, when Remi flings himself to some spindly twigs in the tree across from the one the Knight is climbing, he's forced to follow at a much lower level. Swearing softly and inching out across the boughs until he can find a good place to jump across to an interlocking series of branches, he ends up hugging the trunk with an oof! of effort.
"You gotta come down eventually," he calls up towards his husband, grinning and reaching up to shake at the higher branches, as if to dislodge the raccoon from his perch.

From his precarious throne of twigs and mischief, Remi glances down through the lattice of leaves with eyes bright and glinting, paws pressed to the branch like a little gremlin king. The sway of the tree from Ronin’s shake barely disturbs him—if anything, it only makes him chitter louder, tail flicking with delight.
You sound very confident, Sir It, he teases, the bond thick with laughter and smugness. But I'm built for this, remember?
He crouches dramatically, as if preparing to leap again—then flattens himself against the branch instead and holds on like the world’s fluffiest caterpillera. The leaves above him tremble with his joy. Maybe you can use your axe to cut the tree down to get me, though I doubt the woods would like that very much.
Just to drive the point home, he grabs a nearby twig and hurls it (poorly) in Ronin’s direction.

"Your shift might be built for that, but I happen to know that you quite enjoy the finer things in life." Ronin smiles smugly up at Remi in his flourish of leaves and branches, and as if promptly changing his mind, he stars to descend back towards the forest floor. "Oh, I wouldn't want to offend the powerful forest or its goddess," he agrees. "I'll keep my axe right where it belongs, thank you."
Touching down in the undergrowth, Ronin finds a suitable place to sit - and a twig is lobbed wide of him as he searches, earning a bark of laughter - and settles down. "I am quite peckish though, you know," he says, patting at his pockets and withdrawing, wonder of wonders, a small pack of flavoured crackers. "No idea how I'm going to eat all of these by myself, but I'll just have to manage, won't I?"
Rustling the pack obnoxiously, just to make sure Remi hears it, Ronin relaxes against a tree trunk to enjoy his snack.

The rustle of the cracker pack is Remi’s undoing.
For all his smug posturing, the bandit king has always had a particular weakness for snacks, especially in this shift—and the sound hits his ears like a siren’s song. Above, the raccoon stills, head cocked. Below, Ronin lounges, all innocence and crumbs, pretending not to notice the way the forest goes quiet again.
Then—nothing. No chitter. No leaf-disturbing scamper. Just a whisper of wind and a sharp snap of wings as Remi drops from the canopy in hawk form, a streak of white and gold cutting through the air. The dive is fast and silent, talons tucked neatly as he arrows down toward his husband’s lap with precision that would make any predator proud.
He doesn’t go for flesh or cheek or face; he goes for the bag.
With a flash of feathers and the faintest rustle of wind, Remi snatches at the pack of crackers with his beak and jerks hard, trying to tear it free from Ronin’s grip before banking into a sharp turn, wings beating furiously to gain altitude with his spoils.

Surprising everyone - up to and including himself - Ronin does not defend the pack of crackers with his life. He'll mourn them later, though, let it be known. But no, he's out for bigger prizes today. Like winning. He desists in the rustling as everything in the woods grows still and eerily silent, his blue eyes flicking up to the trees, pupils warping to draconic slits as if they might stand a better chance at seeing what he's sure will be something perfectly camouflaged to the foliage.
And so when Remi dives, Ronin is ready. The crackers are snatched easily in razor sharp talons (mainly because he's already letting them go) and his fingers snap up to graze the tail feathers of the departing falcon. "Ha!" the Knight announces, springing to his feet. "Now you are Sir It! Enjoy your crackers, you loser!"
Promptly shifting into a luxere, all velvet antlers and fluffy white tail, Ronin bucks and kicks a few times in his delight before, yes, racing off into the undergrowth.
