What do you get when two ruthless assassins raise their daughter travelling through the wildest reaches of Caido? Take one look at Theea and you'll get a pretty good idea. Cheerful and tenacious in equal measure, and curious beyond all else, she began her journey on a mission to find those her mother once called family. And find them she did, soon rubbing elbows with demigods, leaders and even ghosts from the past. Her determination is resolute, her thirst for knowledge unmatched. We can't wait to see where her next adventure takes her!

"Soooo, explain to me why we're out here again?" Noe complained, clambering over a tree root. She'd much rather be back in Haulani. And she'd definitely rather be with anyone else other than Sohalia Lumaris, who led the way through the Wildwood ahead of the engineer.
In truth, Noe wasn't sure why she'd agreed to come, except for the fact that Sohalia had cured her, essentially saving her from the Family's clutches. And then she'd agreed to keep Noe in her apartment, which she definitely didn't have to do. And then she'd been so patient and kind while the engineer got back on her feet.
Suffice it to say, Noe felt like she owed the young woman quite a lot.

Sohalia wasn't sure what had compelled her to bring Noe with her to the Greatwood, especially after she'd specifically told Koa that she would protect his sister. Noe was arguably safer in Haulani, but Soh could tell that the girl was going a little stir-crazy in the apartment that they now shared. And, honestly? She had heard Noe's nightmares wake the girl a little too often. Maybe she thought that finding a way to fight back against the Family would give Noe something to do - something to fight back against whatever it was that haunted her so.
"I have a friend who's infected," Soh explained again, reminding herself that patience was a virtue. "And we're looking for a Vi's Rose to give his partner so that she can cure him." Tarak swooped overhead, chasing Mika through the limbs above. Neither companion seemed to be very interested in their hunt, but hey. They were out here, and that was what mattered.

"Riiiiight, but didn't you say that you got a rose from Vi last time?" Noe asked, more out of spite than true curiosity. She really didn't care how Sohalia had done it. She might owe the Luminary her life, but she didn't have to like her. No matter how easy the former queen made it to forget all her past transgressions.
Koa seemed to have forgiven her, but Noe wasn't so quick to let things go.
Mika hissed excitedly from the treetops, flitting this way and that as she tried to tag Tarak. The griffin was faster, though, so the little mata mata had to get creative. She hid in a bundle of leaves, blending in with the shadows, and waited until Tarak flew by again. Then she darted out and bit him lightly on the tail.

Soh glanced over at Noe. She'd been trying her best to win the girl over, but the engineer seemed determined not to like her. "I did," she said. "But Vi doesn't just give out flowers like candy. It was a miracle that he answered my prayer at all, much less that he gave me a quest and that I was able to complete it."
Tarak squawked as Mika bit him on the tail, then zoomed off after the mata mata. Soh watched them, bemused. At least their companions seemed to get along. "I'm sorry," she told Noe. "I know this isn't fun. But I'm glad you came."

Orbs of light beckon and call from the darkened angles and shadows of trees. Were those whispers of your friends? Family? Fallen allies?

You’ve encountered a Will-O-Wisp. This counts as a common creature encounter for the purposes of levelling, but does not count as a Random Event for levelling or MP. Noe blinked, glancing at the Luminary. She wasn't sure why Sohalia was glad she'd come. If anything, Noe had knowingly been a pain in the ass. "You'll have to explain that one to me." She went back to searching, but saw neither hide nor hair of a rose. "I didn't think we were friends." Or even particularly friendly.
Mika, tiring of the game of tag, flitted down to her bonded and hid in Noe's hair. Curled around the girl's neck, the little mata mata looked almost like a very chunky neckace. Noe reached up a hand to pat the snake, stroking her scales affectionately.
And then they were moving on, into the next region of the Greatwood.
