Cheer up and dry your damp eyes and tell me when it rains
And I'll blend up that rainbow above you and shoot it through your veins
Much had happened in the past months since Sohalia had received her quest - so much that she was no longer quite sure that the person she was then and the person she was now were, in fact, one and the same. But either way, she'd finished her vest at long last and gathered herself and her materials enough to visit Frey's shrine in Torchline once more. She found herself in the coastal region more and more often of late, but that was something to dwell on another time. For now, she should focus on revealing her work to the deity and hoping for their blessing.

So she made her way to the Rainbow Road, ignoring the memories that threatened as she passed by the spot where she'd met Ace so many moons ago. Instead, she fluffed the bouquet of lilies she'd picked out this morning, fussing with the arrangement until it looked just so. And when she arrived at the shrine, she set the flowers and their vase upon the altar. "Hi, Frey," she said, brushing her fingers against the sun-warmed stone. "It's just me. I did as you asked, and I brought the vest. I rather like it, but I hope it's alright..."

The vest itself was reversible silk, one side a metallic silver and the other a midnight blue brocade. It was finely made, and Soh adored it even without being enchanted by a god. Hopefully, though, after today she would have even more reason to treasure it.

Frey
A soft purr of thunder heralds Frey's arrival today, the deity forming from stormclouds and petrichor before the vase and the bouquet of lilies. "How lovely," they trill, serene and yet vibrating with quiet energy, as if drawing it from the land itself. Flowerbirth in Torchline can be a turbulent time after all, but it is nonetheless a chance for rebirth and renewal, for the wheel to turn anew.

"Oh, and so is this," Frey announces, gesturing to the vest that Sohalia has had made and nodding their approval. "It will suit you well, petal. Now, let us make it a little more interesting." The Mothman Scales she has procured will appear in one of their hands, the vest in the other, and delicate threads of power begin to weave between them like a spider's web. Little by little, the scale knits itself into the silk of the vest, and when Frey is finished, it shimmers with magical potency.

"Here you are."

Sohalia has completed her request and receives the following:

Type: Grey | Style: Defensive | Level: Basic
Mothman Scale Vest | A lightweight vest made from the scales of a slain mothman. Blocks Physical damage and downgrades incoming Upgraded dark magic to Basic level. Can be used 1x per thread.

Frey's approval brought a smile to Soh's face even as she dipped her head in polite greeting. "Lilies are my favorite," she admitted, gesturing to the flowers that seemed to grow even prettier in Frey's presence. "I'm glad you like them."

Then the vest appeared in Frey's hands, and the Mothman scales alongside it; threads of power began to weave the items together, until the scales had been seamlessly integrated into the garment. When it was finished, the herald gave it to Soh, and she accepted it with a word of thanks. "It's perfect," she told Frey with a grin. "Exactly what I was hoping for." Shrugging the vest on, she twisted this way and that, and was pleased to find that the fabric and scales moved with her, not hindering her motion in the least.

Satisfied and content, the Luminary turned back to Frey. "Thank you, Frey. I appreciate your help!"
