You’re all Chris and Milly have left.” she said with a little frown. ”Have you signed up for the army yet?” she asked him, a look of concern on his face. ”I know you don’t like it, and don’t want to, and it makes you mad but…there are people here relying on you. And you can’t help anyone if you’re sitting in a jail cell.” she said gently, kissing his lips chastely. It was clear from her tone and face she wasn’t trying to scold or lecture him, and her words coming from a place of concern borne from her care for him.
