HOTARU
To say her rage is fierce is an understatement. To call it elemental is a disservice. Of all the words within her grasp, every language she’s ever faced, there are none to convey the intensity of her anger when the dizzying sensation of a new portal trip finally fades. For a moment she lays there, graceless and staring up at the night sky draped out above her, hair sprawled out in golden threads and spun amongst the fallen leaves. She may even look peaceful, to those who catch a glimpse of her in the shadows of the dying grass. Slowly she rises, gathering her legs beneath her and standing, plucking a leaf from her hair with the quick intensity of a falcon snatching a fish from the water.

For a moment she stares down at the leaf in her palm, existing in a different season than where she’d just come from. It’s wholly unharmed, a dark shade of orange even beneath the silver cast of the moon, and rather meaningless in the grand scheme of things. Beautiful even.

She crushes it in her hand.

Only when the tiny bits are ground between her fingers to a satisfyingly tiny degree does the woman unclench her hand and let the debris fall to the earth once more. A sharp exhale, a quick smooth-down of her garments, and then she releases a wordless scream of anger into the air around her.

It lasts until her lungs deplete, a senseless primordial expression of her grief and frustration. And just as quickly as it began, it ceases. Though her breasts heave with the exertion, her face has settled into a grim mask. Her hands push her hair back behind her shoulders, and without any further dawdling she sets forth with purposeful strides. Heterochromatic eyes focus on the monolith in the distance, a tower of some sorts and the only marking visible through the treeline, backlit by the heavy moon.

She walks with purpose, like she intends to walk in an unimpeded line and all that stands in her way will simply fall and be crushed to nothing. It’s certainly intimidating despite her petite stature. Effectively more of a stalk than a stride. Still, it carries her where she needs to go - onward. And as she goes, she lets her voice ring out loud and clear to any traveling nearby.

“If anyone knows where the hell I am, come tell me!”

Hotaru has arrived.

REXANNA
The moon shines high above, full and bright, the stars glimmering off in the distance – stars so different from Helovia, from Halyven, and yet Rexanna finds solace in the crumbling pieces of the Spire. Her gaze is soft toward the sky, turning the ring on her finger in a small amount of nonchalance as she watches and wonders, ponders curiously if they truly are the cause of the blight, and what that might mean for the future. Would they be banished? Ashamed? Paraded through the streets as some kind of repercussion?

She snorts as she creates a spark of light in her hand, the smallest firework she can manage, and she watches as it fizzles out. She wants to see them try.

Her thoughts are snatched from her the minute she hears the shriek, and for a moment she leans back on her hands in the brilliant moonlit glow, thinking nothing of it. She was sure she had seemed as rattled when she first arrived, only she had been far quieter about it – more cautious, more… wishing to be hidden rather than paraded. She didn’t blame anyone for that, how they reacted. It certainly was an experience of all things. And she lets her dark hair fall back along her shoulders in her short sleeve shirt, with a drooping neckline that reveals the brand she’s no longer self-conscious of.

In fact, in the cold she’s barely wearing anything of warmth. Yet the woman can’t feel it, thankfully.

It isn’t until she hears the rustle of the grass, the person who the Penumbra assumes has just arrived, on a warpath in her direction, and she smirks slightly when the words reach her ears. She’s still like a statue, not needing to breathe, and she keeps her face pointed toward the moon soaking up some residual warmth from the day. Still, she waits until the woman is closer, within hearing distance to her, before she says anything.

You, my dear, are in Caido. This is the Spire.” She announces, not looking at the woman just yet, but extending a pale hand to her side toward the obsidian monolith, crushed and crumbled. Her head lowers from the sky, then, sapphire gaze glimmering in the light as she finally beholds the woman that has approached, and she stops dead still as recognition sits in. And her eyes widen in surprise – unsure if the woman will recognize her, but silently praying she does.

HOTARU
If there’s any redeeming quality to this new, terrible, hideous land she has found herself dropped into, it is that she’s not left wandering for long. Certainly a change from the days of the Threshold, trolling about on lazy patrols waiting for some idiot to come busting through the shrubbery to try and bait them into following her home instead of some other insipid recruiter. Considering her festering, apoplectic rage, it’s for the best that someone attend to her need for knowledge before she sets fire to the place.

Her heart leaps into her throat for a moment at the thought, delving immediately for any sense of her magic in her soul. It rushes forward at her command, weak and unstable, manifesting in her hair rising and the soft crackle of electricity coming to her ears. It’s the most comforting sound she has ever known, her first magic. There is nothing else to command, no other responses, but she doesn’t care. This was enough, a starting point if nothing else.

Still, it’s only one question answered out of hundreds. Hotaru is no spring chicken when it comes to portals. After Helovia there had been others. Brief, meaningless in all ways except the loss. Her mate, all of her children, her best friend, her twin, her soul-bonded. They had made it safely to the other side, and then some of them had just...disappeared again. Including Hotaru.

Until there was nothing. Just...Hotaru. More alone than she had ever been before, since her conception alongside her sister.

So yes, she’s pissed. Because it’s a rightfully felt emotion, and it’s easier to feel and wield than the grief that chokes her.

Hotaru comes upon the woman just as she begins to speak, her dark hair short and gleaming ebony in the light of the moon. Her voice is familiar in a way she can’t place, but she bares her teeth in a wolf’s smile nonetheless at the answer she receives. Caido.

”No need to announce it so grandly, it’s certainly no sight for sore eyes,” she finds the words sweet and mocking on her tongue, a twitter of laughter cloying in the corners of her mouth. Familiar rebuttal, if nothing else. Though her steps slow they do not stop until the woman turns, amusement clear on her strange face. There is nothing special or significant about her, and Hotaru is ready to sink her claws into the femme to wring and wile out as many answer as she can about this land when her gaze travels up and falls upon the woman’s eyes.

Brilliant sapphire. A color she has seen in few others, but one she cannot look away from with the way recognition grips at her ribs and jerks her to a stop. It can’t be...but if it had happened to her why not to…?

”Rexanna?” she whispers, hope like a knife in her stomach, slowly twisting. She cannot bear the thought of being wrong, no matter the wide-eyed recognition she can see reflected in the woman’s face. To lose her best - and only - friend a second time would be too much to bear so soon after arriving in another strange land. Even still she can’t help how that hope drags her feet forward, stumbling, hands rising shakily as if to touch her palms to the Rex - to the woman’s - face. Needing to touch, to embrace, to know this is real.

REXANNA
The woman is rage and flame, fury… and lightning? And as she stares, wide eyed at the woman with the snarky response, the voice so achingly familiar, there’s a part of her that sinks when Hotaru doesn’t recognize her immediately. But she allows the woman to look, to gaze and choose her sinking point, until their eyes meet. And blues meet green and grey, and suddenly Rexanna feels her eyes almost begin to swim with tears. She stands from her rock as Hotaru approaches, a whisper heard thanks to her Ascended hearing, and a large fanged grin crosses her face when Hotaru’s hands meet her cheeks and Rexanna’s own hands reach out to touch the woman’s shoulders.

Oh my gods, Hotaru, it’s really you…” She manages through a tight throat, blinking back the tears that threaten to escape. Her true sister in arms, both thieves, the one that had believed in her and promoted her, where she was able to become something better and something more — before her betrayal had cost her nearly everything. She manages to blink back the tears enough to try and pull the woman in for a tight hug, arms trembling and shaking with the realization.

It’s me, Rexanna.” She says as if she needs to clarify. Who else would have known the blonde’s name if Hotaru’s assumptions hadn’t been correct? She bites the inside of her cheek as she finally sits to stare at her friend, her confidant, her sister and she can’t help but to be speechless, unable to come up with anything grand to say other than how much she can’t believe the woman is there.

Finally, she manages to sift through her thoughts just enough. “You're here, with us now.” All the pieces falling together, the ones that held the mountain together, their snow tipped peaks and raging auroras. They were here together, and gods it was so sweet.

HOTARU
Time seems to slow as she takes in the eyes that bare a soul she would recognize anywhere, no matter the form it takes. As familiar to her as the mountain ranges of the Basin, as her sister’s laugh, as her children’s faces. Her first, truest friend. The only soul to understand her in her entirety, to cradle the soft parts and lend her blade to the strong. Hotaru’s throat closes on a swift and merciless wave of tears, her emotions spinning rapidly out of control. There is simply so much to feel, careless of any thoughts or questions about Rexanna’s presence.

Rexanna’s skin is cool beneath her warm palms, fingers shaking as they trace the ridge of her best friend’s cheekbones. Tears spill past her lashes even as a blinding smile comes to her lips, scarcely blinking for fear Rexanna would disappear in the moments between. Hands alight upon her shoulders, and she steps ever closer, as comfortable in Rexanna’s arms as she had been in their prior forms. ”You’re here,” she chokes back in return, voice warbling past her tears. ”You’re here, you’re alive, Rex, she outright sobs, hands slipping to cup Rexanna’s neck as they fall into each other in a tight embrace.

Hotaru can’t let go, holding so tightly she can scarcely breathe. Rexanna, Rexanna, Rexanna, her mind chants. Beloved, lost and returned, the woman who had been her faithful sister in shadows the entirety of her reign, who had risen to her call like a tsunami beneath the force of Hotaru’s belief in her.

The confirmation is unnecessary, but it settles something in her chest to know. That these memories in her head are shared, that the life she lived was remembered and how she remembered Rexanna’s in turn. A validation of life, of shared grief, of reunion and love and friendship that transcended realms. All leading to here, to this moment, arms entangled beneath the moonlight. A missing piece of the puzzle, clicking together once more in harmonious existence.

Withdrawing feels like a blade to her heart, but she sinks to sit beside Rexanna immediately, needing the touch of her cool skin and the scent of her hair to keep breathing. The words her best friend speaks rattle her, the implication of others, but she does not focus on it just yet. Not now, in this moment between just the two of them. No matter the betrayal, the pain, the brokenness between them in the past, Hotaru would trust Rexanna forever. She had followed her to the Edge in the time of her greatest weakness, forsaking her kingdom to trust in Rexanna’s hospitality, even when their friendship was still tenuous. There is so much she wants to say.

”I’ve missed you so much Rex,” she hiccups pathetically through the last few tears, wiping them away irritatedly even as her quivering smile never fades. ”I’m here, I’m here and I’m not leaving,” she vows, reaching out to hold Rexanna’s nearest hand and squeeze it tight. It’s a dangerous promise to make, with how she’d just been dropped here moments prior without her consent, but if the forces of the world try to rip her from her sister’s side again she will go with hell burning at her heels.

REXANNA
She had never imagined it would be such a feeling, seeing the Valkyrie there before her, but Rexanna’s mind races with such ferocity that she can’t help the happy sob that leaves her as she feels Hotaru’s hands on her cheek before they embrace, and tears fall from the both of them. Her first true friend in a world of many faces, fancy words, and harsh tempers. And she nods in response, aiming to bury her face into her friend’s neck, into her blonde hair as she holds her tight. “I’m here.” She says again, as if she can’t say it enough to prove it to her.

The Penumbra doesn’t mind the tight embrace, it helps not needing to breathe, and she lets Hotaru hold her for as long as she needs, craving the touch despite the deadened feelings in her arms. She can’t feel the closeness, but she knows it’s there, and it’s enough for her. It’s enough to be there, to feel her, to see her, and know that it’s not a memory, a figment of her imagination. But who else did she think had passed, that were now suddenly here? ’There is time.’ She assures herself, knowing that she was here now, and there was plenty of time to overwhelm and share in the joy of Hotaru the Valkyrie.

To have her sister again.

And when they withdraw from the embrace, and she sits beside Rexanna on the crumbling piece of rock, Rexanna can’t help herself but to reach out to hold her hand. She is not the same as she was before, and neither is Deimos. But she would learn the shift soon enough, learn the closeness that had brought her back to them. Back into the family of mountains and winds and howling wolves. Her family. And there’s Kiada, too, the raging flame of fury and strength, a relationship she hasn’t repaired. But perhaps this might do the trick, to show how much Rexanna wishes to apologize for what she’d done, how terrible of a mother she’d been, to bring the family back together.

She hears Hotaru hiccup, watches while she wipes away her tears, and Rexanna reaches up to wipe away her own. She claims she will never leave and Rexanna’s eyes glimmer with another series of tears as she grins to her best friend, letting her hand go with a squeeze to hug and hold tight again. “I want to say I can’t believe it, but…” She pauses to pull away and look into Hotaru’s dual toned eyes. “There are more of us, more Helovian’s here, Ru.” She can’t stop the name that falls from her lips through her choked up throat, even though she had vowed to wait. It’s too important, too much of an overwhelming feeling to leave Hotaru in the dark. “Deimos. Deimos is here.

HOTARU
Even as her tears slow, there is a mending of the myriad of holes in her heart. It cannot ever fix the loss she has suffered, her entire life swept away in darkness and her family lost to her. But here, now, with Rexanna pressing her face into her neck and cool tears kissing against her skin, there is recovery. Fate has deigned to return at least one beloved member of her family to her side, and that is better than the empty nothingness she had before.

A part of her files away her questions, her incessant queries, about the appearance of her best friend. She could have been bald and deformed and sightless and Hotaru would take her as she was, because she loved Rexanna wholly. The what and who and how don't matter, not here and not now. They cling to each other's hand as they sit. A tether, an unwillingness to part after so long without the other. If there is any benefit to this new, strange body, it is that she can hold her friend so much closer than before. She can see an entire world of emotion in her face, feel the curves of their bodies align as they hug, and for one so tactile as Hotaru it is a blessing.

They wipe their tears in tandem. There is no other around to impress with their composure, and Hotaru is all but meaningless in this new land, but old habits die hard. She is pulled easily into a new hug, and Hotaru sucks in a deep breath and lets it out slowly. Her emotions feel less like a hurricane now, uncontrollable and fierce. Rexanna had always symbolized peace and joy, and even now her presence calms and centers the deposed Valkyrie.

Her eyes lift to the taller woman's eyes, feeling lost and childlike with how she hangs on every word. Rexanna's words are like freezing water slipping down her throat into her belly, hope rearing its wild head. How many others? Who? A viperous thought curls in her mind, whispering that she must ask after her children, her family. The temptation is strong, but she can't bring herself to shape the words. To hear a denial would break her. It was better to imagine them at their father's side in the Rift, safe and happy, rather than to curse them with having been ripped away and left wandering as she had.

Deimos.

Her breast seizes with the name, and she looks wildly up at Rexanna, blood hot and sparking. It's impossible, she had seen him dead in the rain with her own eyes, had mourned him and stood vigil all night alone in her ruling of the kingdom. He had been her mentor, her equal, her tentative but sincere friend. Alive?

"Deimos?" she breathes, voice cracking. "He's alive? He's here?" The words fumble uselessly from her mouth, emotions swelling confusingly once more. "I...you must take me to him Rex, I have to see him, please," she begs, grasping her friend's hands once more.

REXANNA
She doesn’t want to be the one to tell her sister about her children, she doesn’t want to reopen that wound. And so she gives a different name, one of stature, of strength, of power, and loneliness. Only one of those didn’t translate to this new version of him, and she wonders if perhaps it’s for the better — for him to have a family to count on and refer to when it comes down to it. He has so many of them now, at least. Amalia, Kiada, her, Hotaru. All of them coming back together, mismatched puzzle pieces fitting together like a glove, and she can’t help the fanged smile that crosses her face at the question and demand.

The Valkyrie is here, is home, is with her once more.

Her head bobs in a nod to Hotaru, quiet and watchful, as she leans back and smiles softer. “I will, I promise, but before I do I have to tell you that he and I are different than we were before.” She says through the trembling of her voice. “We… Remember Helovia like how we lived it, but it wasn’t this version of us. Something with the portal we arrived in made it possible, showed us that second avenue of a different life we’ve lived.” She explains the best she can. “Deimos is the same and yet not. Same for me.” She says, reaching to squeeze her friend gently. “Are you hungry? Cold?” She asks suddenly as though it’s just occurred to her. She wants to tell the Valkyrie to come home with her, to rest and catch up and they’ll find the Reaper in the next day.

HOTARU
Hotaru leans back to settle her gaze upon Rexanna's face as she speaks, memorizing every dip and curve, committing this new form of hers to memory so that she may never mistake or forget her again. With a start Hotaru realizes that outside of her height and glimpses of her golden hair, she doesn't even know what she looks like. She had been far too consumed with reuniting with Rexanna, but now as she gazes upon the fangs poking adorably out of her sister's mouth, she can't help but wonder how her own appearance has changed.

Though it's not the only thing that has changed, she ponders as Rexanna pulls away once more to speak. The tremble of her voice settles something in Hotaru, lends her a steel to her bones that reminds her of years sheltering and guiding those beneath her hand. She listens carefully to everything she says, eyes calm and accepting, and when she finishes Hotaru smiles and gently brings a hand to bump affectionately under Rexanna's chin.

"Regardless of how your memories transferred, we all would be different after the lives we've lived," she reassures. "What matters is you are you, as familiar and loved as you have always been to me. The rest we can figure out with time." It is said with finality, for Hotaru will accept nothing else. Their new intricacies and changes would be explored eventually, but now they had time.

With her last question Hotaru realizes that yes, actually, she's increasingly growing colder. She had been thrust into the world in only a thin ivory dress, and her skin is raised with the chill. Smiling sheepishly she runs her palms over her arms, trying to warm herself up. "Definitely cold, but I'll live. Nothing can be worse than the Basin," she jokes cheekily, though she can't deny the cold is much harder to deal with when she is so bare-skinned in this form.

REXANNA
The affection, the touch of Hotaru is enough to make the Penumbra sigh with content – not knowing how much she had missed such a thing from someone who knew her ins and outs. She leans in gently to her hand with a small smile, listening while Hotaru comforts the weary frustration of what came with the memories of living multiple lives, and actually living them. But Hotaru is real, she’s here and reassuring, and everything she had ever hoped for in a friend, in a sister, and she nods to the woman with the same finality that Hotaru gives her.

But with her question, the woman’s brows inch closer toward one another when Hotaru rubs her hands along her arms, concern lacing her face at having not asked sooner. The joke that’s sent her way causes a brilliant smile to cross her face again and she snorts her own response to it. “Agreed!” Her voice is almost sing-song like as she strikes a slightly dramatic pose. But it doesn’t last long as she’s reaching out again, this time for her thin white shift of a dress, and she channels her magic into it – shifting it from thin and ivory to something akin to wool with the warmth and thickness to keep her warm.

Then, she removes her hands just enough to give her a gentle smile. “Come home with me.” An echo, a reverberance to when she had found her and Thranduil, and Romina among the trees and woods of the Threshold. But this time, it wasn’t away from everyone, this time… It was here. With all the friends and family nearby, within reach, without losing touch. Throughout it all, her eyes are hopeful and they linger on Hotaru, not caring if Bastien would mind. She had her sister back, certainly that would be reason enough?

I have a home in the Settlement, my fiancé is there but we have plenty of room until we can see the rest of everyone.” She offers, another wide grin on her face. “Gods Hotaru we have so much to catch up on.” She says with a small huff of a laugh, of all the things that had happened and shifted, what had happened to her as well, and the Reaper and Harpy in turn.

HOTARU
Like it always has, Rexanna's laughter sparks her own to bubble up like springwater in her throat, delighting in the memory of their years together in the Basin, often huddled up morosely to preserve warmth. Or even better, soaking in the hot springs and nearly shriveling up with their reluctance to get back out. Oh Gods, there better be hot springs here, or at least a way to get warm or running water. Hotaru had been through so many realms of varying technological advancement, and had certainly become spoiled by the creativity of humanity.

When Rexanna reaches for her Hotaru merely observes her curiously, wholly trusting in the woman. She looks down as hands grasp her dress, and gasps in surprise as the material changes in response to some sort of magic the woman wields. It's much thicker and warmer within an instant, and Hotaru delights in the display. "That was wonderful, thank you darling," she croons, shifting her hips about to watch the new material sway in the wake of her movements.

Come home with me.

Hotaru looks up slowly, both of them thinking of the same time, the same night, in a different world. Her own recalcitrance that day, the strained but unbroken remains of their friendship stretched taut between them. Thranduil at her side, her own belly swollen with life that sapped at her own. Even then, with so much more to lose and her own home calling her name, the Valkyrie had followed Rexanna home. Here, with nothing to her name and nobody to present but herself, there was nothing to hold her back. Dual-painted eyes soften, and she smiles. "Okay. Take me to your home, Rex. Where you go I will follow." A parallel to their old relationship, but perhaps it was time for Rexanna to take the lead here in this new world. Hotaru would trust nobody else to lead her through this strange environment, to allow the Valkyrie to give up control.

Fine golden brows rise and a mischievous grin plays coyly on her lips. "Oh a fiance you say? I can't wait to meet him," and electric playfulness dances in her eyes, the wrinkles of her smile, because Hotaru had always been the one Rexanna came to about her love woes and it wasn't going to end now. In a moment she steps forward back into her sister's space, linking their hands together one more time and smiling up at her calmly. "Then lead on, and you can start to fill me in as we travel."

REXANNA
A wry smile crosses her face as Hotaru croons to her, and she sends a beaming grin back, a small chuckle of laughter before it fades away for the seriousness, the similarities that dance between then and now, yet so different all the same. And she meets the familiar dual toned eyes as the silence seems to stretch, memories combined and shifting, likely recalling different things. The tension of their friendship, their closeness, with Rikyn nearby to try and recruit them back to the Basin, back to home. But it had stopped being home when Deimos had died. The mountains were the same, but the people were different. And she couldn’t, wouldn’t adapt.

But her sister’s eyes soften, and she smiles and had Rexanna been holding onto a breath, it likely would have released in relief there, the words that part from her face. “We all live nearby one another, Deimos a few houses down from me.” She explains, as if it’s any consolation. “Off in the distance though, you know how he is.” She adds as a bit of a joke, wrinkling her nose slightly as a laugh slips from her throat.

It only grows bigger at the raised brow and playfulness displayed in the Valkyrie’s eyes, and the Penumbra smirks slightly in response – recalling the woes and tales, mostly of a certain King to the West, and she stifles her snicker at the thought. Soon enough, Hotaru is in her space again, hand in hand, where she belongs – where they both have belonged. And she begins to guide Hotaru home, the Valkyrie, her sister, her Queen, once upon a time.

I arrived a year ago, the same time Deimos did.” She begins to explain, gaze drifting ahead to the path they weave between the crumbling bits of the Spire and debris left behind from the attack. “I arrived what the Natural’s here call Abandoned. With magic, like you have.” She says, angling her head toward her friend with a small smile. “Then there are Accepted, which are here without any special gifts, other than the love of the gods from what I hear. Attuned is another, they can shift into different creatures.” She pauses, contemplating, before her hand squeezes lightly on Hotaru’s. “Then there are the Ascended, mechanical by nature and possess certain strengths and weaknesses.” She tilts her head as she regards her friend. “I am both Abandoned and Ascended. It’s how I got these bad boys.” She winks to her friend, opening her mouth and running a tongue along her fangs.

HOTARU
Hotaru would have followed Rexanna anywhere, trusting in her promise to reunite the Valkyrie and the Reaper, but it's a comfort to know that he is not far. It's a temptation she will have to resist, to pound upon his door in the middle of the night in the equivalent of a night-dress and throw her arms around him heedless of whether the grumpy man would accept her. But she reminds herself that there is time, nothing but time now, and she will take as many hours as she can with Rexanna regardless.

"He has always been such a lone wolf," she clicks her tongue playfully and laughs, remembering his hulking frame and reticence even when she was a mere Thief planning an invasion beyond her station. Not that the Valkyrie ever left him alone for long, dragging him by the ears to herd meetings or into discussions about promotions. It makes her long for him nonetheless to wallow in these memories. He had been her mentor, her guiding light, the support she could always count on to prop her up. Things she desperately needs, now.

Rexanna leads her forward by the hand, and Hotaru falls into step beside her, listening intently as the leaves crunch beneath their feet. As she explains the races, Hotaru recalls the magic that had answered her call, and files away the term for later. Abandoned. She conceals a little huff of bitter amusement. It was fitting, at least.

Hotaru grins at Rexanna's wink, squeezes her hand back. "So what you're saying is you're a special little hybrid aren't you?" The teasing and ribbing comes so naturally even after all this time. "What weaknesses should I look out for?" As if Hotaru would ever go into this blind, not knowing what could harm her sister.
it's our nature, we destroy
it's the constant of our kind
no matter the color of blood, man will always fall
Hotaru has a passive magic that makes her glow with an internal golden light; it makes her appear youthful and her hair seems to look like moving sunlight. Can only subtly illuminate dark spaces.

REXANNA
She nods briefly with a light chuckle when Hotaru perfectly describes Deimos, a snicker enough to wrinkle her nose, before she’s off and explaining the races, biting her tongue at the mention of Kiada being among them. There was time for that, time for the reunion that would show her that she wasn’t alone, even if the others hadn’t quite made it (or made it yet).

And she shows off her fangs to her sister, mouth resulting in a quiet smirk as the familiar harp and teasing nature falls on her ears, and she lifts her head and bats her eyelashes to Hotaru, using her free hand to fan her face. “Would it truly be me if I didn’t have something special like that?” She retorts before falling into a quiet chuckle of laughter. But when she asks about the weakness, she looks forward down the path once more.

Sunlight, for one.” She says, looking up toward the moonlit sky and the stars that sparkle up above. “And running out of my blood, in a way. It’s different than it was, someone called it fluid once, which I suppose is accurate.” Her shoulders rise and fall in a shrug. “But, I feel no pain which is amazing considering about a month ago I got squished by a giant pumpkin.” She rolls her eyes as though she’s in disbelief at it before her head tilts back toward Hotaru with a quiet hum of a smile.

My eyesight is better, hearing is better, I’m stronger than I was before. And the kicker, I can take magic from any of you all.” She pauses with a light smile. “I just need to bite you, drink some of your blood, and it’s there for me to use when I need it.” She informs Hotaru, not shying away from the nitty gritty details of it all – she knows Hotaru would think no different of her.

But then a chuckle leaves her lips and her mouth quirks in a small smirk, leaning forward to nearly whisper it in her ear, humor laced in her voice. “I have been bit by the Ascended before I had undergone my own, and gods Hotaru, it’s the best orgasm you’ll ever have.” She says as though it’s some divine secret before pulling away and laughing.
