Remi seemed surprised, hurt at Sam's concern; instead of feeling guilty (though that would certainly come later) Sam felt relieved, to know that the man did not harbour violent, angry intent towards him. After the aggressive talk at his door, and his natural inclination to assume everyone hated him to the fullest extent...Sam had already pictured the many ways Remi could harm him.
