Adam had known many people like Amalia, and his grand conclusion was that they thought too much. Self-analysis was the death of fun, which was why he resisted it at every turn. If you never reflected, you never had to be haunted by what you saw in the mirror and if you never paused you didn't have to regain your momentum. No questions about what you were doing, no doubts.
