Wessex goes a little further and then jumps down from the top of the hedge, a soft whump heard as her feet hit the frozen ground. She scans the ground for any tell-tale signs of passage, leaning close to search for fibers or hair or prints on the earth. Looking across the path to the hedges on either side, Wessex chooses one and peers in, looking in and along its twisted edges as far as she can, until she suddenly darts to the other side and shoves her talons into it.
The element of surprise is strong in this one.
