Though it seemed she was still less sure of herself than usual, if the pauses between her speech were anything to go by. He waited to hear what it was she was trying to say, going to stand by Rex and placing his hand on the small of her back.A hand she would feel tense as Wessex announced her news. Not with anger; with a little shock but mostly a lot of jealousy. Ever since he had come to Caido he had had dreams of walking among the Divine, had even Ascended with that in mind. To know that Wessex had achieved it before him (and as far as he knew, it had not been a dream of hers) stung, even though he knew she had accomplished much more from the Voice than he.
