This time Jigano had brought a sack-full of butchered magna vermis meat, wrapped in waxed paper and left with the guards while he continued on to the Citadel, venturing into Snowcloak with bright eyes peeking over his thick scarf and beneath the tight-cinched hood of his cloak. He had come prepared with some books from the Atheneum that he had recently made copies of: guides to Hollowed Ground flora and fauna, respectively, and another book about the Ascended that he had copied together with information from previous books (information about the Spire Demon and the experimentation done on it and the Prince, the removability of upgrades, and how many of those upgrades had to do with deception and stealth, as well as what they had learned of LongNight monsters as they related to the Voice and Ascended, finished with an addendum about the Voice's part in the Blight of the Greatwood).

He had searched out a bookstore as he walked the streets, wrapped tight in his layers against the cold, and when he had finally found one tucked away back in a little side street it had taken a bit of cajoling to get the proprietor to reluctantly agree to a trade with him, but once she had Jigano had prowled her shelves eagerly looking for an interesting-looking book - preferably one about Halo's dangers and treasures. He slipped on his spectacles, hoping they might help him see something he might have otherwise overlooked.

You've selected a child's book, because there always seems to be a bit of truth in them upon which the magic is built..

Not every children's book had a happy ending. It was, however, an educational tale and Jigano made the trade for it thoughtfully, tucking the book into his layers along with his glasses before heading out to continue his perusal of Snowcloak's shops and offerings. Borrowing a trick from Amalia he fluffed out foxy fur beneath his wrappings, giving himself an extra layer of warmth hidden by his thick clothes as he made his way down the sunlit street, nodding greetings to those that he passed (who mostly ignored him), and peering in shop windows wherever the ice was clear enough to let him see the wares inside. The glare off the snow was real enough, but by squinting he could mostly make out where he was going and avoid bumping into people.

He was mostly there out of curiosity, but also on the prowl for a particular ningo-seller who owed him a favor, for he had a powerful curiosity for what the birds tasted like and the cold was certainly working up an appetite! If he didn't find the man soon he'd have to find something to trade for a meal at one of the taverns he passed, their light and apparent warmth within sturdy stone walls beckoning to him with every quarter hour that past on his explorations.
