"It's so..." You're speechless.

The fae have let the pair of you wander and wonder about as you will. Divine lineage and not being affiliated with the Grounders has its perks. That, and no one really wants to argue with the pair of you. Threats don't work either since you're okay with observing pain as a mechanism for coercion, even if you're the subject of the experiment.

So here you two are, beneath a velvet-black sky just smeared with stars. And you're speechless.

"...so.."

Existential dread nips at your lower intestines, filling them with icewater, but you don't mind so much. Something about the blackness of it all, the gestures towards the infinite held all the way up there is calming to you.

"Yeah."

That's all you really have to say in response to your twin: yeah, yeah it is so absolutely everything, so much bigger and more beautiful than anything else. The sky is such a lovely, constant ceiling to the surface of the world, always the same and always different and endlessly fascinating at all times.

You stare at the sky with wide, abjectly fascinated eyes, awed to something close to silence. It's rare you find this level of reverence in anything other than nature. Reaching out for your sister's hand, you close her fingers in your own. "D'ya think we'll see a starwhale?"

You appreciate Kai's understanding, not only of you, but the world. That he feels the weighty tug of it around him just as strongly as you do; simultaneously tethering you to the ground but also launching you up into the cosmos.

"It's possible." You agree unhelpfully, your fingers stiff in his grasp for a moment before you remind yourself what the purpose of the gesture is, and close your hand around his.

"Safrin, Herald of Vi. If you're there, I would like to know about the creation of stars, please." You call out, gaze upturned to the heavens.

The stars above flicker as a warm breeze flutters through your hair, but you shall see neither starwhales nor Safrin on this night.

Safrin doesn't come, but you don't mind. The sky and the stars and the wind in your hair are enough to keep you content as the night wears on. As you stare into the glittering stars you tell Oia stories about them, even though you know she'll argue that they're really just randomly placed balls of gas with no real meaning or symbolism.

And when the night begins to give way to dawn, you rise up from your spot on the balcony, pulling her back toward home. Though if you're being honest, you already are home - because home is nature, and more than that, home is her.
