From being an Abandoned who had rarely left the Hollowed Grounds, to embracing the call of adventure, to dying and being reborn first as an Ascended and then as an Ancient, Maea has gone through quite the amount of changes in her life. One thing remains common, though, in her attempts to find out just where she belongs; she’s always had a craving for knowledge which has brought her to so many places and to meet so many people here in Caido. We can’t wait to see what else is in store for her!
Congratulations, Maea!

RONIN
Ronin had never been to this shrine before. Indeed, most of the Greatwood had either been off limits to him, had been open only when he was dead, or had been the place he'd run riot in while blighted. Understandably, he did not find it an easy place to be. But that didn't make it any less special, and so he headed to the Wildwood shrine with his offering packed safely away, sitting atop a small cloud to make the going easier.
Upon arrival he gave thanks to the obsidian Arduinna, static in prayer, and began to light his candles for Safrin. Once he was finished, he set a small firework into the ground and lit it up, letting it shoot, whistle and crackle into the air with a flourish of bright colour.
"Lady of starlight, if you have a moment...?" He smiled gently.
As the fading trails of light cast by the firework begin to fade, suddenly they are rejuvenated by twists and whorls of starlight that seem to fill the sky beneath the canopy of leaves. A gentle hum sings out from behind Ronin, and there is Safrin cloaked in midnight periwinkle robes, cosmic gaze reflecting the light from above.
"A moment? For you, always sugar." She says with a dazzling smile. Suddenly the world around them grows quite dark as the light is pulled away, leaving only Safrin and the gently glowing candles as Ronin's source of light.
Eyes widening at the sight of the fireworks rejuvinated in all their colour, a smile pulled at Ronin's lips. Only when the hum reached his ears did he tear his attention away, still kneeling on the ground before the candles as the world darkened and Safrin appeared in dazzling periwinkle, enrobed by midnight. A blush dusted across Ronin's cheeks, smile widening into a cheerful grin, and he turned to face his goddess properly.
"It feels like a very long time since we were able to meet on good terms," he said warmly. "I was wondering if I could petition your help with something - and what you would need from me in return, if you could give that help."
"Ahhh well. A few ups and downs to keep things interesting, mm?" She cooes softly, blind to the implications that statement will soon come to have. For now though she simply smooths away a particularly unruly wave of dark hair, beaming at Ronin.
Blind, indeed. Ronin closed his eyes against the warmth of her touch, momentarily forgetting why he had come and having to force himself to focus. Starlight already hummed in his skin, glowing softly, and he blinked up at Safrin witha a boyish smile. "We would like to see the rest of Caido - Remi, Aoife and I. Remi has worked hard to create a wagon for us, so we can do that, but... it won't fit through a portal."
He laughed - it sounded so ridiculous when he said it out loud. "Do you know a way that might deal with that? A pocket sized wagon that we can carry through with us?"
The goddess blinks as if waiting for a punchline, before tilting her head back with a peal of silvery laughter. "A pocket-sized wagon." Her fingertips find the impossibly strong curve of his jaw as she smiles adoringly at her star. "Only you could say such a thing and make it sound reasonable." She chuckles.
Considering his request, the goddess tugs in a breath. "Alright then. Three things: something small with the potential to be large, something large with the potential to be small, and a mirror."
Safrin's laughter had Ronin grinning boyishly, his cheeks red with the absurdity of the request. All of a sudden he felt like his goddess would tell him he was asking the impossible - that it simply couldn't be done. He wouldn't have begrudged her it. "I mean, with all the other things that are happening to that poor wagon, this seemed the least strange," he admitted, shrugging his shoulders and chuckling.
Then Safrin did consider it, and Ronin drank the request in eagerly. "I think I can do that, just about." He smiled to her, his mind already ticking with things he could supply that fulfilled her criteria. "Thank you, Safrin. You're too good to me."
Winking in response to this, Safrin stepped closer and placed her palms upon Ronin's cheek. Though her size ever seemed to shift, there was something about her now that felt small. Something that could be wrapped up and cradled, something adoring as she gazed up into his eyes.
"Always, sugar." She promised. With a laugh, she leaned forward to blush her lips against his. Just as contact was made she'd disappear into a shower of starlight that would leave Ronin feeling warm and bright for hours to come.
